Audition tapes for WandaVision might be teasing the return of Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Pietro Maximoff was introduced alongside his sister Wanda aka Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) in 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron. While she is now set to lead her own series on Disney+ after years of substantial supporting movie roles, Quicksilver was swiftly killed off in his MCU debut.

Quicksilver's death was a surprise to audiences, but the fashion in which he died made it clear that this was not going to be another MCU fakeout death. But, many fans have hoped that he will be seen again somehow. Rumors swirled that he would appear in Avengers: Endgame and there's some that want him to appear alongside his sister in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. However, it appears the opportunity for the MCU to use Quicksilver again may come in WandaVision instead.

WandaVision is currently in production and is slated to introduce a number of new characters to the MCU. It is rumored that the roles of Wanda and Vision's superpowered kids, Tommy and Billy, are among those. Marvel has yet to announce if they are in the show, much less who will play the parts, but Daniel RPK uncovered an audition tape that appears to be for one of the twins. Although the Vimeo footage is just an audition tape - which often uses dialogue specifically written for auditions - the kid does mention an uncle at one point. If this is one of Wanda's kids, then the only known uncle that he could have in the MCU is Quicksilver. This should all be taken with a grain of salt for now, but the mention of his uncle may indicate that Quicksilver will show up in WandaVision.

Quicksilver in Avengers Age of Ultron

Considering Quicksilver is still dead in the MCU, some may rightfully wonder how he could appear in WandaVision. Flashbacks are certainly possible, but there is another avenue that could bring Quicksilver back in a more prominent way thanks to his sister. Marvel has continued to change what Scarlet Witch can do in the MCU over the last few years, but she's now the most powerful character that they have. In the comics, her hex powers allow her to manipulate reality, which is how Tommy and Billy are created/born to begin with. If WandaVision sticks to the source material for their creations, then Wanda messing with reality could also be how she brings her brother back.

It's far too early to know whether or not Quicksilver is going to appear in WandaVision, but he won't be the only resurrected hero to appear if he does. Vision (Paul Bettany) is returning for the series after his death in Avengers: Infinity War and it's probably thanks to Scarlet Witch changing reality, too. For what it's worth, Taylor-Johnson recently told Screen Rant that he doesn't expect to return to the role anytime soon, so Quicksilver could also just be mentioned in the show and not appear. The good news is that we'll know much more about WandaVision sooner than previously thought. Marvel recently announced that the show will debut on Disney+ sometime this year instead of 2021, as originally stated. If Quicksilver does appear, then WandaVision will truly be a family affair for Wanda.
