There will be more of Evan Peters in the WandaVision finale, director Matt Shakman teases. Marvel Studios' Disney+ series has had a lot of shocking moments, including Peters introducing himself as Wanda's dead brother, Pietro, in episode 5 — a role he portrayed in the separate Fox X-Men franchise. This was confusing, considering that the MCU's version of the speedster was played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson. This spawned countless theories attempting to explain the recasting. Some chalked it to different universes colliding and that it's Marvel Studios' first step in bringing the mutants in, but ultimately, this wasn't the case.

Eventually, it was revealed that he's indeed an imposter, sent by Agnes aka, Agatha Harkness, the true villain of  WandaVision. Despite this confirmation, it's still unknown who exactly Peters' character is. Considering that he isn't one of the trapped Westview residents inside Wanda's hex, chances are that there's more to him than meets the eye. But with him not appearing in the show's penultimate episode, it's curious if he'll still be back in the final outing.

Speaking with Fandom ahead of WandaVision's much-anticipated ending airing this Friday, Shakman teases that Peters' character is still slated to return. That said, his lips are sealed about specific information regarding his remaining involvement in the series. Shakman stated, “I think there’s a strong possibility you might get a little more of Evan Peters coming up. But how that plays out, I wouldn’t want to say.

Peters didn't appear in the penultimate episode of WandaVision, but the last time he was on it, he caught Monica Rambeau snooping around Agnes' house, eventually finding the stairs to her dungeon. Depending on his real identity, perhaps the pair find themselves in their own battle. It's worth noting that Monica has already gained her superpowers as Photon, making her more than capable of taking on Peters' fake Pietro, who might be powered by Agatha. With their ruse busted, it's curious if he still has the super speed to mimic the real Quicksilver's powers.

As it is, Peters' appearance in WandaVision may be nothing more than stunt casting to keep viewers distracted from the show's narrative. It's a clever move, as it not only helps preserve the secrecy of the show, it also kept people talking about the show. It's a good marketing ploy, enticing those who may not be traditional MCU fans to check out the series since everyone is talking about it. Granted that Peters' involvement was leaked prior to his MCU debut, there's still so much to learn about his mysterious character, and hopefully, the WandaVision finale will provide some answers about his real origins.
