Concept artist Andy Park has shared his stunning Scarlet Witch design from WandaVision. Wanda Maximoff may have served as a member of the Avengers for some time now, but none of her costumes have ever been especially persuasive. Even Elizabeth Olsen has expressed frustration over them, predominantly because the one mainstay in previous designs was their cleavage.

But all that changed in WandaVision, with Wanda officially declared the Scarlet Witch. In the MCU, the Scarlet Witch is a prophesied being whose magic is greater than even the Sorcerer Supreme. What's more, as foretold in the ancient book of dark magic called the Darkhold, the power of the Scarlet Witch comes with a stunning new look - one Wanda summoned at last in the final episode.

Now concept artist Andy Park has taken to Twitter to reveal his concept art for the Scarlet Witch costume. The image is stunning, spotlighting the sheer artistry of the design; many commenters are drawn to the distinctive headpiece, which among witches appears to be a mark of power. The intricacy of this headpiece is particularly impressive, making it stand out far more effectively than its comic book equivalents.

Andy Park's design is a blend of various modern Scarlet Witch costumes from the comics, and anyone familiar with the comics will recognize hints of the James Robinson Scarlet Witch series and some of the outfits Wanda wore during her time in the Uncanny Avengers; the cape is a beautiful touch, and in scenes where Wanda was levitating it created a real sense of elegance and majesty. There are hints of intricate patterns in the costume that are yet to be explained, for example the curious belt-buckle that stands out in the finished design as well; given WandaVision introduced the magic of runes, these may well actually be symbolic, pointing to the arcane origin of Wanda's Chaos Magic. And, of course, this costume has finally dealt with the cleavage issue.

WandaVision has transformed Wanda Maximoff, retconning her as a sorceress - and as a potentially unique one at that, the Scarlet Witch, who is apparently destined to destroy the world. She is due to return in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and it's reasonable to assume the Darkhold's ominous prophecy means Wanda's Chaos Magic will bring the Earth to the brink of destruction. No doubt Stephen Strange will be forced to step in himself, finally proving himself worthy to be considered the MCU's Sorcerer Supreme.
