I've already said it, but the only show at the top of my "most anticipated" list for 2010 is AMC's adaptation of The Walking Dead. While I've only recently become familiar with the comic book source material created by Robert Kirkman, this TV show immediately piqued my interest due to two facts that immediately make it a potential winner in my book:
- The show is premiering on AMC, a channel which is establishing an excellent track record for great original programming (see: Mad Men and Breaking Bad).
- The show is being adapted by Frank Darabont (The Mist, Shawshank Redemption), who will also be writing and directing episodes.
If those two facts aren't enough to get you excited about The Walking Dead, maybe the promise of some good character-driven zombie apocalypse action will do the trick.
Not so coincidentally, today we have a new promo for The Walking Dead that is geared toward baiting you with the promise of characters you'll come to care about, who are then placed in some grueling (and gruesome) zombie attack situations.
If you missed the first Walking Dead trailer and know nothing of the comic books, then you need to check out the new promo material below and get yourself familiar with this awesome-looking show:
The Walking Dead stars Andrew Lincoln, Jon Bernthal, Jeffrey DeMunn, Michael Rooker, Sarah Wayne Callies and Laurie Holdenairs. It airs on AMC this Halloween, October 31st @ 10/9c. Be sure to be there, or you may end up missing the premiere of the best new show of 2010.
