The newest Walking Dead spinoff has a working title and plot details have been revealed. The comic book that spawned the The Walking Dead may have come to an end earlier this year, but the TWD television franchise continues on, and indeed is set for another expansion.

First premiering in 2010, the original Walking Dead series went on to become an iconic show and a ratings giant for AMC (though those ratings have fallen off significantly in recent years). Season 10 of the flagship show is set to debut in October, and promises to feature a war against the villainous Whisperers. Meanwhile, the show’s first spinoff series, Fear the Walking Dead also continues on, with season 5 currently underway. In addition to those two shows, The Walking Dead will get a feature film centered on departed series character Rick Grimes, with Universal Pictures distributing the movie to theaters. There will also be a third Walking Dead series, centered on a pair of young female protagonists and dealing with the first generation of young people to come-of-age in the zombie apocalypse.

The main cast for the third Walking Dead series was recently announced, and now there are more details coming out about the show. As reported by ComicBook.com, a news release was recently sent out to the Virginia town where the new series is set to shoot, and it contains a few choice nuggets, including the reveal of the show’s working title: “Monument.” As of now, this appears to just be a generic working title and not something that is of any particular significance. Also, the release let residents of the location know that there will be a major shoot on August 15th involving a plane crash, in which the remains of a downed 737 will be placed across a major street. Production is expected to continue through November.

So, it appears a Lost-style plane crash will play a major role in the pilot episode of the new series. This is the first detail to come out concerning the plot outside of the vague synopsis teasing a young cast coming of age in the zombie apocalypse and two female protagonists. Plane related drama has actually come up in the Walking Dead universe before, thanks to the Fear the Walking Dead: Flight 462 web series, which introduced later FTWD characters Alex and Jake.

By the sound of it, AMC’s newest Walking Dead series is set to get off to a rousing start, with a pilot episode that pays homage to Lost. With Kong: Skull Island's Jordan Vogt-Roberts handling the directing duties for the pilot, it is sure to be visually impressive and epic. Still, it remains to be seen what else will be done to distinguish the new show from the original Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead beyond focusing on younger characters.
