The Walking Dead actor IronE Singleton reveals that, if he was given the chance, he would be open to returning as T-Dog in the franchise. T-Dog was a character original to the TV universe of The Walking Dead who garnered a dedicated number of fans during his time on the show. Despite this popularity, T-Dog died in season 3, episode 4, allowing himself to be eaten by Walkers in order to protect Carol.

According to ComicBook.com, Singleton was asked at Atlanta Comic Con if he would return to The Walking Dead as T-Dog if given the chance, prompting a positive reply from him. He reveals that he "read for an episode," which may be a positive hint at a future T-Dog appearance in the growing zombie universe. Check out what Singleton had to say below:

I am open. I actually read for an episode.

I am open for it. So that's a discussion that [Walking Dead directing-producer Greg] Nicotero and I would have to have.

Why T-Dog Should Return To The Walking Dead Universe

Singleton's return to The Walking Dead as T-Dog is more possible than ever now that the franchise is beginning to expand into multiple series taking place at different points in time. With the flagship series over, main characters from the original show are set to appear in spinoffs that take place after the series finale. Meanwhile, more episodes of Tales of the Walking Dead, an episodic anthology series about different survivors, are expected in the future.

Because T-Dog died in The Walking Dead season 3, it wouldn't make logical sense for his backstory to be presented in any other series. With Tales of the Walking Dead, a story about T-Dog before meeting the main Atlanta group in season 1 could be told, leading up to when Rick Grimes meets him on a rooftop along with everyone else.

Because Singleton is enthusiastic about a return to The Walking Dead, and because T-Dog is so beloved, it would be surprising if the character didn't make some future appearance in the ever-expanding The Walking Dead universe. If he does, then it would also open the door for other deceased The Walking Dead characters to appear in the future as well. While it remains to be seen if T-Dog will make an appearance in the future of The Walking Dead franchise, Singleton's openness to the idea means it's a very real possibility.
