After an extra-long episode last week in which Negan demonstrated how good he is at being an intimidating bully, The Walking Dead shifts its focus and spreads it out between the Hilltop Colony and those in Alexandria. The different locations make for an interesting shift in a season that has for the most part remained focused on a single setting and just a handful of characters in each episode. The change works as a way of demonstrating how the various communities are similar, how they are different, and how the person leading the group defines them. In the case of the Hilltop Colony, Gregory serves as a reminder how fragile the community is. It's the first time in a long time that the character has shown up on screen and his presence in 'Go Getters' seems to speak toward a potential character-defining change for one person in particular.
Before that, however, The Walking Dead has to demonstrate once again just what a threat the Saviors are by inviting Negan's guy Simon (Steven Ogg, Westworld) to stop by and have a little chat with Gregory and the people of Hilltop. So what does Simon have in store for Gregory? And does Maggie have something planned that will speak to the future of the colony?
