Dan Fogler of AMC's The Walking Dead reveals what happened to Luke. The Walking Dead premiered on AMC in October 2010 based on Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard's comic book series of the same name. The series follows a group of survivors during the collapse of modern civilization and the breakout of a zombie apocalypse. Now in its eleventh and final season, the series boasts several awards and has seen multiple spinoffs, including Fear the Walking Dead and The Walking Dead: World Beyond.

As the group faces new challenges, new characters come into play throughout the series. Season 9 sees Luke introduced to audiences when he was rescued from life on the road. Luke and his crew subsequently arrive at the Alexandria Safe-Zone, eventually ending up in the Hilltop Colony. However, Luke ultimately proves his worth as a character when formulating a successful plan to defeat the Whisperers. While Luke's fate is yet to be determined, Fogler's commitment to other projects outside the world of The Walking Dead has raised fans' concern.

As reported by Comicbook.com, Fogler reveals what happens to Luke in AMC's The Walking Dead. During a recent panel appearance at Fandemic Tour Atlanta, Fogler stated that Luke is probably living it up on the beach over at Oceanside with Jules. The actor also commented that Luke is likely "teaching music classes" and hinted audiences might see a Luke appearance towards the end of the 3-part final act. See Fogler's exact comments below:

Last time you saw Luke, he was chilling with Jules. I suspect that he's over at Oceanside, just living it up on the beach there, having a good time.

Although Luke falls victim to the Whisperers in The Walking Dead comic series, he lives to tell the tale in the show. However, Luke is not the first supporting character to outlive his comic counterpart. Ed Peletier, Scott, Tobin, Kal, and Bruce are all supporting characters in the series who live beyond their deaths in the comics. Regarding Luke, however, with season 11 being the last, audiences will look for a new fate for the fan-favorite character now that Fogler hints at his whereabouts.

The Walking Dead began as a smash hit for AMC but ultimately became plagued by dwindling ratings in its later seasons. Although there are many theories regarding why the show slipped into a decline, no one cause is likely to blame. Still, season 11 has the opportunity to turn things around and render audiences satisfied with an excellent conclusion to the tale. Time will tell, and audiences can tune in to The Walking Dead's final chapter over on AMC to see how things ultimately play out.
