The final showdown against the Whisperers in The Walking Dead season 10 is almost here, and now fans can get a glimpse of what the survivors plan to do with Beta's horde. It has been quite the road for Walking Dead fans. The Whisperer War culmination was originally scheduled for airing back in April, before being delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The episode, which is hitting cable October 4, looks to feature an intense climax to the current storyline.

Next month, it will be 10 years since the first episode of The Walking Dead aired on AMC. The show's emphasis on character development mixed in with zombie action makes it a standout cable drama. For comic book readers, the show offers plenty of differences from its source material, catching fans off guard. In what was probably a surprise to many, AMC announced The Walking Dread will end with its 11th season. Of course, while the main show is ending, the franchise lives on. There are spinoffs in the works, as well as the Rick Grimes movies. Before all that, and before season 11, fans will see how the Whisperer War comes to a close.

In a sneak peak released by AMC, The Walking Dead's cast of survivors go through their plan for Beta's horde in the upcoming episode. It involves getting to a wagon on the other side of the horde. Check out the clip below.

In the clip, Gabriel goes through the plan to lead the horde away and rendezvousing afterward. He states it is important getting equipment to a wagon residing on the other side of the horde. There is still some tension with Lydia, coming from Oceanside individuals who won't assist in the wagon plan if Alpha's daughter is present. Perhaps the strongest part of the clip is Daryl saying "Look, we're not all going to make it through. But this is the only way," giving a somber atmosphere that even if the plan succeeds, it won't be without causalities. Based on just this clip, fans are in for a grand conclusion to the Whisperer War.

There are still plenty of unknown variables going into the episode. Will Negan and Daryl team up against Beta? An image released in August showed the two fan favorite characters together. It would certainly be a crowd-pleasing moment if they unite to take down the antagonist. Doing so could truly cement Negan as part of the group, but all this remains to be seen if it happens. Meanwhile, seeing the overall plan come to fruition will likely make for an entertaining, stressful watch. No matter what, it's fair to expect big things this Sunday when The Walking Dead returns.
