A new video for The Walking Dead season 10 finally reveals what fans have been waiting for: Maggie's reaction to seeing Negan again. The Walking Dead season 10 has been forced to adopt a rather unconventional structure due to the coronavirus pandemic. The season was initially expected to end back in April, but when post-production efforts were slowed by the pandemic, AMC held off on airing it until October. Then, at San Diego Comic-Con in July, it was announced that six more episodes have been added to The Walking Dead season 10, set to arrive in early 2021.

The Walking Dead's onetime season 10 finale aired earlier this month and brought an end to the Whisperer War. It also featured Maggie's (Lauren Cohan) triumphant return, something fans had long looked forward to. While fans were thrilled to see Maggie back in action, there was one question left dangling: How would she react to seeing Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan)? When Negan was first introduced on The Walking Dead, he killed Maggie's husband Glenn (Steven Yeun) in cold blood, leaving the dynamic between Maggie and Negan incredibly antagonistic.

Of course, since then, Negan has become something of a good guy, which is why fans are quite curious to see how Maggie will respond to his presence when The Walking Dead season 10 returns. Now, they have their first glimpse at Maggie and Negan's reunion, thanks to a new behind the scenes video (via EW). The Walking Dead cast has assembled for a virtual table read of what is presumably the next episode, "Home Sweet Home." In it, Negan greets Maggie, who merely responds with a terse "You're out." After he assures her he didn't break out, Carol (Melissa McBride) gives Maggie the full story. Check out the video down below.

Perhaps most surprisingly, Maggie doesn't seem particularly angry to hear Carol set Negan free. That doesn't mean she's happy about it, but at the present moment, it doesn't look like there will be many hard feelings between her and Carol. Whether she truly will warm up to Negan remains to be seen, but as he killed her love, that seems like a long ways off, at the very least. Undoubtedly, the episode will feature a longer interaction between Maggie and Negan, and don't be shocked if it goes sideways fast.

Also of note in this quick clip is new information about what Maggie has been up to. She mentions both an Elijah and a community in need. Could Elijah be the masked figure that appeared in the Walking Dead's semi-finale? Only time will tell, but it does look like this episode is finally supplying fans with the answers they've been looking for. With production now underway on the rest of The Walking Dead season 10, fans can rest assured that it remains on track for its 2021 debut.
