The Walking Dead cast keeps growing every year, and season 10 is no different. As major characters leave the AMC series, more join. The Walking Dead season 9 said goodbye to Rick (Andrew Lincoln), Gregory (Xander Berkeley) Jesus (Tom Payne), Enid (Katelyn Nacon), and Tara (Alanna Masterson), and welcomed several fresh faces including new allies and new enemies.

The Walking Dead followed up Andrew Lincoln's departure from the series with a six-year time skip. In the years that passed, the communities grew and rebuilt. Characters were found to be in new relationships and new positions of power. Everything that had been built in recent years threatened to come undone with the coming of the Whisperers, a large of group of people who prey on unsuspecting survivors by posing as zombies. The Whisperers and the five communities were at odds for most of the season.

The conflict with the Whisperers is far from over in The Walking Dead season 10, and no character on either side is guaranteed to survive what comes next. And to bring the latest zombie story to life is an impressive cast list for The Walking Dead season 10.

The Walking Dead Main Cast & Characters

Daryl is ready in The Walking Dead season 10 poster

Normas Reedus as Daryl Dixon: Daryl is one of only two characters who has been on the show since season 1. Through nine seasons, Daryl has been through a lot. Daryl left Alexandria after Rick's "death", but returned at the onset of the conflict with the Whisperers. The absences of Rick And Maggie have forced Daryl to take charge in situations where he normally wouldn't. Prior to The Walking Dead, Norman Reedus was known for starring in The Boondock Saints films.

Danai Gurira as Michonne: Michonne has been a single mother to two children for six years. Like many characters on the show, Michonne's role in the communities has evolved. She's currently acting as the leader of Alexandria. Aside from her role on The Walking Dead, Danai Gurira is known worldwide for her part as Okoye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Melissa McBride as Carol: Carol is the only member from the original camp that Rick encountered in season 1. Carol, who has had more than her share of ups and downs, recently went through the death of a child. Her adopted son, Henry, was murdered by the Whisperers. Before landing her role as Carol, Melissa McBride guest-starred on a number of TV shows, such as Profiler, Dawson's Creek, and Walker, Texas Ranger.

Christian Serratos as Rosita: Between seasons 9 and 10, Rosita gave birth to a child, Coco. The child was fathered by Siddiq, even though Rosita is currently in a relationship with Gabriel. Adjusting to her life as a mother while also balancing her life in the zombie apocalypse is sure to be a challenge for Rosita. Christian Serratos is most well-known for playing Rosita, but she also made a name for herself by playing Suzie Crabgrass in Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide.

Josh McDermitt as Eugene: What complicates the weird relationship with Rosita, Gabriel, and Siddiq even further is Eugene, who has unrequited feelings for Rosita. Eugene is Alexandria's brightest mind and perhaps its most important asset. Josh McDermitt's career hit its stride with The Walking Dead, but before joining the zombie series, he had a starring role in Retired at 35.

Seth Gilliam as Gabriel: Gabriel has come far since he was first introduced in season 5. The once-cowardly priest is now a well-respected citizen of Alexandria and one of the five co-leaders of the coalition between the various communities. Seth Gilliam has led a successful career on television, including starring in major roles on shows such as The Wire, Teen Wolf, and Oz.

Ross Marquand as Aaron: Aaron lost his husband in the war with the Saviors, his arm in the beginning of season 9, and his good friend Jesus in one of their earliest encounters with the Whisperers. Aaron has endured a great deal of hardships in just the last two seasons. Ross Marquand is a well-known voice actor, having voiced characters on Impress Me and Phineas and Ferb. He also played the Red Skull in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.

Khary Payton as Ezekiel: Like Carol, Ezekiel is still recovering from the loss of their son. Ezekiel wasn't given much time to grieve, as he had to watch the Kingdom fall in the end of season 9. While the Kingdom itself has been destroyed, the people of the Kingdom live on, which could give Ezekiel a reason to keep fighting. Similar to Marquand, Khary Payton is also a well-known voice actor; he provided his voice to a number of DC Comics characters in Young Justice and Teen Titans Go.

Ryan Hurst as Beta: Ryan Hurst is the most recent addition to the main cast. His character, Beta, is Alpha's unquestionably loyal second-in-command, and a villain who has gained the enmity of Daryl. Beta is so wrapped up in his identity that he never takes his mask off. Ryan Hurst has had major roles on shows such as Sons of Anarchy and Bates Motel in recent years.

Samantha Morton as Alpha: Alpha is the new villain of The Walking Dead. Her status as one of their biggest enemies ever was cemented when she murdered ten characters. Samantha Morton is an award-winning actress who has starred in films like Sweet and Lowdown, Morvan Collar, Elizabeth: The Golden Age, and recently Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Negan: Negan is not the same man that he was in seasons 7 and 8. Being locked away in a tiny cell broke Negan and allowed him to change. Characters like Gabriel and Judith have tried to set Negan on a different path. Jeffrey Dean Morgan has made a name for himself by having major roles in TV shows like Supernatural, Grey's Anatomy, and The Good Wife, as well as movies such as Watchmen, Rampage, and more.
