Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira are finally reuniting on the set of The Walking Dead's newest spin-off. The actors, who play Rick and Michonne respectively, will star in the six-episode limited series, which will premiere on AMC and AMC+. They will be experiencing a fraught love story as they face off against the dead and the living alike.

AMC released new behind-the-scenes photos as filming begins. While the images don't reveal much about what the season will look like after The Walking Dead's ending, they tease the season's aesthetic and how Rick and Michonne will work to find each other in the spin-off. The Future Of The Walking Dead

While Rick and Michonne's show will play a massive role in The Walking Dead's future, it isn't the only show that will keep the spirit of the franchise alive. There are four upcoming The Walking Dead spin-offs, and each of them will show a different aspect of the post-apocalyptic Earth. Depending on how successful they are, there is always the chance for more.

Fear the Walking Dead is still awaiting a season 8 premiere, which will debut on May 14, 2023. Reports indicate that the first half of season 8 will continue the story from season 7, while the second half will take place after a seven-year time jump — a huge change for the show. The season is 12 episodes long and will serve as the culmination of Fear the Walking Dead.

The Walking Dead: Dead City, meanwhile, will explore the story of Maggie and Negan as they traverse through an apocalyptic New York City, while the dead encircles them. The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, meanwhile, features the titular Daryl Dixon and many new characters struggling to survive in France, the heart of the outbreak. With so many The Walking Dead stars enjoying spin-offs of their own, it is unclear if they can find each other again, as Rick and Michonne are desperately trying.
