The Walking Dead's Norman Reedus and Andrew Lincoln are still going back and forth in a prank war. The two met while starring in the zombie apocalypse series together, which premiered October 31, 2010. Lincoln plays the show's lead, sheriff's deputy Rick Grimes and Reedus plays Daryl Dixon, the crossbow-wielding hunter, and Grimes' right-hand man. The two became close friends and played side by side until Lincoln left the show in 2018. However, the prank war that started when the two were costars continues, even amid a pandemic.

The prank war dates back a couple of years, and both have delivered some impressive hits. Lincoln pranked Reedus with fake zombies scares, toilet paper attacks on Reedus' car, and glitter bombs. Reedus has proven himself to be a worthy opponent, hitting back at Lincoln with a glitter bomb of his own, this time in a car air conditioning vent. Reedus also filled Lincoln's trailer with chickens and provided him with some misleading Japanese, teaching Lincoln how to say, "where is the toilet?" instead of "thank you for having me in your country" while on a press tour in Japan.

In an interview with ComicBook, Reedus talked about how despite the coronavirus pandemic forcing everyone in quarantine, he's been working hard to keep the prank war alive. Reedus explains that while at home, he found an embarrassing story about a guy in England who ate a pigeon in the middle of the park. He sent the story to Lincoln as if the story was about him, referring to Lincoln being from England himself. Reedus expresses, "It's hard during COVID to keep up the prank war, but I'm trying, I'm trying."

Reedus also reminisced on past pranks, including the aforementioned Japanese prank. Reedus seemed more than happy to use his knowledge of the Japanese language to embarrass Lincoln. "I mean, live television, it was the greatest," said Reedus. Costar Khary Payton revealed that Reedus tried to recruit him to conduct another prank: putting goats in Lincoln's trailer. New to show at the time, Payton turned down the offer. Payton recalled, "[Norman Reedus] was like, 'Dude, help me get these goats in.' I was like, 'This is my first day, dude! I'm not gonna put no goats in his trailer!"

It's hard not to appreciate Reedus' commitment to the prank war. It's also hard not to love the long-lasting and entertaining friendship between Andrew Lincoln and Norman Reedus. Given the dark material of The Walking Dead, pranks are probably the perfect thing to uplift the spirits of everyone on set. And even though Lincoln isn't on the show anymore, it's nice to see that he stayed connected to his former costars, especially through a hilarious prank war.
