AMC Networks will release a Walking Dead universe never-before-seen art book. The long-running post-apocalyptic series has remained a top program for AMC since its debut ten years ago. Based on Robert Kirkman's graphic novels of the same name, The Walking Dead has gripped and shocked fans with its cliffhangers and fan-favorite character deaths.

Its popularity has led to an after-show talk show Talking Dead, two spinoff series, Fear the Walking Dead and The Walking Dead: World Beyond, as well as its upcoming Daryl and Carol spinoff and anthology series Tales of the Walking Dead. The Walking Dead universe will continue to expand with the upcoming Rick Grimes movies that are expected to end Rick's story properly after his disappearance in Walking Dead season 9. Fear the Walking Dead began in 2015 and is currently in the middle of its sixth season. The second spinoff series, World Beyond is set ten years after the zombie apocalypse outbreak and follows a group of teenage survivors. The series premiered in October and was announced to only consist of two seasons, with season 1 concluding back in November. With The Walking Dead's 10th season recently wrapped up and its 11th and final season set to air in August 2021, AMC is now turning the franchise into a book.

Per comic book and graphic novel publisher Image Comics, a Walking Dead universe book will be released, featuring never-before-seen art from the shows. The Art of AMC’s The Walking Dead Universe is a 240-page hardcover art book compiling of behind-the-scenes pre-production and production art of The Walking Dead, Fear the Walking Dead and The Walking Dead: World Beyond. The art book, which will launch on September 29, 2021, features original sketches, concept art, storyboards and more from the three shows.

The book has a wrap-around cover with over 50 characters from the franchise. It will also feature an introduction by the franchise's Chief Content Officer Scott M. Gimple, as well as "fun facts" from creators and crew members of the three shows. The book hails from AMC Networks, Skybound Entertainment, and Image Comics, and is AMC Networks' first published content.

With The Walking Dead and World Beyond ending this year, fans are soon going to see the fate of many favorite characters resolved. With its release right after the premiere of The Walking Dead season 11, this new art book will likely be a major sell for Walking Dead super-fans. Never-before-seen illustrations and storyboards from the franchise will certainly be fascinating for long-time fans.
