The trailer for the upcoming Walker spinoff Walker: Independence finds Arrow star Katherine McNamara looking for justice. Walker: Independence is a prequel series to the CW's 2021 show Walker, which stars Supernatural alum Jared Padalecki in the titular role of Cordell Walker, Texas Ranger. The spinoff was announced in May 2022 and is set to premiere on October 6. Unlike Walker, which takes place in modern-day Texas, Walker: Independence is set in the late 1800s. The series follows McNamara's Abby Walker, an ancestor of Cordell, as she journeys West from Boston.

Today, the CW released the first trailer for Walker: Independence, entitled Justice. The trailer finds Abby seeking revenge on the man who killed her husband, and her journey leads her to the small town of Independence, Texas. With saloon brawls, masked bandits, and a new sheriff in town, the trailer is reminiscent of old Western films. Check out the action-packed trailer below:

Unlike Walker, which is more of a procedural cop show and family drama, the new trailer for Walker: Independence proves that the upcoming spinoff will be much more of a classic Western. Even though the spinoff's genre differs from the original series, Walker: Independence is carrying on the theme of family retribution - whereas Cordell struggles to deal with his wife's death in Walker, Abby intends on avenging her husband's in the upcoming prequel. With only two months to go before the series premieres, both Walker and Arrow fans alike don't have much longer to wait to see McNamara as a gun-slinging Western heroine in Walker: Independence.
