The newest game by Terry Cavanagh, the creator of the puzzle-platform game VVVVVV, has been built entirely in RobloxVVVVVV, created by Cavanagh and released in 2010, is a side-scrolling platformer in which players manipulate gravity in order to complete more than 400 rooms. Roblox, developed by Roblox Corporation, is an online platform that allows users to program games and play games created by other users.

As a platform completely dedicated to creating and sharing games, Roblox has amassed a huge collection of free games since its release in 2006. These games are all community-made, but particularly skilled users are able to craft gaming experiences that rival a huge AAA title. Some notable games available on Roblox include Robot 64, a 3D platformer that takes inspiration from Nintendo's memorable Super Mario 64, and a randomly-generated dungeon crawler titled Super Cube Cavern. A fast-paced first-person shooter titled Energy Assault and a highly competent golf simulator titled Super Golf! are also among the greatest games to be found in Roblox.

VVVVVV creator Terry Cavanagh has announced, via Twitter, that his next project has been created and released within Roblox. Since April the developer has been posting updates about the progress of his "obby," a term used to describe obstacle courses or platform titles made within Roblox. After months of development the new game, Climb the Giant Man, was recently made available to play on May 10. Like all titles posted to Roblox, Cavanagh's new game is entirely free-to-play.

While Roblox is entirely free-to-play, with in-game purchases made using a specialized currency called "Robux," the game has proved to be a massive financial success for Roblox Corporation. After the game was introduced to the stock market on March 10, Roblox stock rose 54% within its first day on the market. The game's stock was initially listed as $45, but the price jumped up to $65 within seconds of going live to the public. The stock price hit a peak of $74.55 before slowly lower back down to $69.50, representing a 54% price gain on its first day.

Roblox provides players with the tools to create wildly innovative and imaginative games. The platform's free nature then allows these independent titles to reach a very wide audience, making Roblox a perfect resource for those wishing to break into the video game industry. While Terry Cavanagh's work on VVVVVV already makes him a well-known name, his Climb the Giant Man project is a great way to experiment with new mechanics and spread his work in an efficient way.
