Voltron Season 3 Trailer & Images: The Team Brings the Fight to Lotor

Voltron Legendary Defender Season 3 Images & Trailer

A new season 3 trailer and set of images for Voltron: Legendary Defender debut online. DreamWorks and Netflix have found great success with Voltron: Legendary Defender; their re-launch of the classic astronauts and robots animated series has garnered a sizeable fan base who eagerly anticipate each new offering. In fact, there’s enough confidence in the brand now that two new seasons are being worked on at once.

Now, the third trailer for Voltron season 3 has arrived on the web and it’s all about Prince Lotor. The villainous heir to the Galra Empire, voiced by A.J. Locascio, is mobilizing the troops after the defeat of his father at the end of season 2.

That’s not the only challenge facing the heroic Paladins this season, either. The Black Lion segment of Voltron is currently out of action, since its pilot is missing, meaning the team can’t properly utilize their giant robot protector at the moment. With Josh Keaton’s Shiro missing in action, it’ll be up to Tyler Labine’s Hunk, Jeremy Shada’s Lance, Bex Taylor-Klaus’ Pidge, Kimberly Brooks’ Allura, Rhys Darby’s Coran and Steven Yeun’s Keith to topple Prince Lotor and any lingering threats from Neil Kaplan’s Emperor Zarkon.

Netflix also unveiled a batch of official images from Voltron: Legendary Defender season 3. You can clap eyes on them in this slideshow:

Lotor is starting to look like a real tough cookie, isn’t he? The gang will have to do some creative thinking to topple his regime without the full Voltron robot at their disposal.

Speaking of which, the road ahead for the Paladins was teased in this official piece of plot description:

“The team must quickly devise a plan as the ascension of Prince Lotor and his generals pulls the team into a perilous game of cat-and-mouse that tests their unity and abilities more than ever before.”

Isn’t it nice that they found the time to take a lovely group selfie in the midst of all the mayhem and mortal danger? And what was that shot with the moon in the background all about? Only time will tell, and thankfully there isn’t long to wait for this one.

Voltron: Legendary Defender season 3 will arrive on Netflix on August 4, 2017. It will consist of seven episodes. Season 4, which will have six installments, will follow in October. We’ll let you know when the specific date for season 4 is announced.
