Voltron: Legendary Defender Season 2 Teaser & NYCC Details

Voltron Pilots in Netflix Adaptation

As Netflix moves to produce more and more original content, the streaming service has been largely unafraid to reach audiences across genres. From dramas like House of Cards to Marvel shows like Jessica Jones and Luke Cage, the site is working hard to cover all kinds of interests, but Netflix had little original programming for younger audiences until this summer. Sci-fi and animation fans were therefore thrilled when Netflix rolled out their first season of Voltron: Legendary Defender this summer, in collaboration with DreamWorks Animation.

Voltron follows five Earth teens who become embroiled in an intergalactic war and must pilot the titular Voltron, a giant robot comprised of several smaller robots, to save the day. Confused? Welcome to the wild world of anime revival, and don't worry, we've summed things up for you. This revival of classic 80s anime Beast King GoLion and its American offshoot Voltron: Defender of the Universe aired this summer on Netflix to much critical acclaim, and we've recently learned some new details about its upcoming second season - as well as what Voltron fans should look out for this Friday at New York Comic Con.

First, the show's official Facebook page released a teaser that originally premiered at San Diego Comic Con this summer, much to the delight of those who couldn't make it to the convention.
