On her first season of The Voice, Ariana Grande wanted to be the third coach to win, but that didn't happen, and rumors that she may not return to the NBC show are now spreading like wildfire. While the singer sent her gratitude towards supporters, there was nothing that could have been done to change the outcome, and she said goodbye to her team. While Ariana has received lots of praise, fans worry that she may not be returning for a sophomore season.

As most viewers know, The Voice format features numerous tryouts that are followed by live show rounds. The blind auditions are widely considered the most enjoyable element of the series, since NBC shows the good, the bad, and the ugly. Judges fight for the best contestants, with some not always getting who they want. Sadly, while Team Ariana was praised during the early rounds, they did not fare so well once the live shows started. One by one, her team members were picked off.

Ariana May Be "One And Done" With The Voice

To say that The Voice coach Ariana has been on an emotional rollercoaster during season 21 would be an understatement. Not only did the pop star struggle to follow the rules when it came to contacting her team, but she also didn't seem prepared for the mental toll that the show would take on her as an artist. Ariana held out hope due to her remaining father/son duo, but they were wiped out in the semi-finals, and all was lost. Ariana mourned the loss of her final contestants, as most coaches would, and found watching other performances to be a bit difficult, as the competition continued without her team. Fans who enjoy watching the popular series feel that Ariana might be "one and done" when it comes to returning for a second season.

There was no doubt that Ariana had a special bond with her team, unlike the other judges. Fans loved seeing her take her team's vocal health seriously, as she gifted them teas and lozenges. However, her immense pride may have been her undoing. Ariana often became emotionally attached, and grew uncomfortable when one of her team members was voted off. Even fellow judge John Legend noted how Ariana had elevated the show, but fans wonder if she's motivated to stay on The Voice.

While it may be the end of the road for Ariana, it most certainly is not the end for her team. Fans believe that she will offer them help once the show is over, by jump-starting their music business careers. Ariana has already penned a heartfelt goodbye to her contestants, and followers are wondering if her swan song isn't too far behind, as she is spending most of her time working on her own music, REM Beauty, and the upcoming Wicked films.
