Veteran The Voice coach Blake Shelton is back for season 19, and the fans should get to know his very successful career as a country superstar. At the moment, Blake Shelton is the only coach to have been featured on every single season of NBC's The Voice. He's been on the show since the start, and he is still occupying his red chair even 19 seasons later. As of now, Blake Shelton holds the record for most coach wins on the show. In total, seven Team Blake contestants have gone on to win The Voice: Jermaine Paul (season 2), Cassadee Pope (season 3), Danielle Bradbery (season 4), Craig Wayne Boyd (season 7), Sundance Head (season 11), Chloe Kohanski (season 13), and Todd Tilghman (season 18).

Prior to becoming a veteran coach on The Voice, Blake Shelton was already a very popular country singer with several studio albums released. His first album, the self-titled Blake Shelton, was released all the way back in 2001. Ever since, the singer has released eleven studio albums. When it comes to critical accomplishments, Blake has won six Academy of Country Music Awards (ACMs), eight American Country Awards (ACAs), two American Music Awards (AMAs), and ten Country Music Association Awards (CMAs). He has yet to win a Grammy award, but he's been nominated nine times, which is quite impressive.

There's no denying that The Voice helped Blake Shelton become an even bigger household name in the United States, but his career was already very impressive even prior to the show. Following his debut album in 2001, Blake went on a hot streak of album releases in the years that followed: 2003's The Dreamer, 2004's Blake Shelton's Barn & Grill, 2007's Pure BS, and 2008's Startin' Fires. Then, as The Voice premiered in 2011, Blake Shelton's fame rose to new heights. He released Red River Blue that same year, which became his first-ever #1 album on the Billboard 200 chart. He followed that hit album with Cheers, It's Christmas (2012), Based On A True Story... (2013), and Bringing Back The Sunshine (2014). The latter album also went #1 on Billboard. In 2015, Blake's personal life was brought into the spotlight after the announcement that he and Miranda Lambert had filed for divorce. The pair had been together since 2005. But just as that relationship ended, The Voice brought on Gwen Stefani as a coach, which was the start of something new.

The love story between Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani is directly related to their casting on The Voice. Gwen was brought onto the show just as Blake's relationship with Miranda Lambert was ending. In turn, Gwen was also in the process of divorcing longtime husband Gavin Rossdale, which meant that they were in very similar spots at that point in time. As of 2020, Blake and Gwen are now engaged. Blake Shelton's more recent albums, 2016's If I'm Honest and 2017's Texoma Shore, as well as Gwen Stefani's 2016 album This Is What The Truth Feels Like, were all heavily inspired by their new relationship.

Blake Shelton is a beloved coach on The Voice, and it's always possible that he'll break his own record and win the show an eighth time. That said, he has tough competition this year against fellow coaches Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, and Gwen Stefani.
