Animated characters can look as goofy as their illustrators want them to, and sometimes they end up looking pretty darn weird. With a variety of giant heads, bulging eyes, strangely sized limbs, and colorful clothing, animated characters can look extremely unique and instantly recognizable.

There are countless unusual cartoon characters running around on televisions and movie screens, so it might surprise you to know that some of the skilled actors and actresses who lend their voices to bringing these characters to life aren’t nearly as funky-looking as the characters they portray on screen. In fact, many of them are extremely attractive by Hollywood’s standards.

The valiant men and women who voice these glorious weirdos are often drop dead gorgeous, which is rarely known to fans, as the actors themselves are usually hidden behind their mics and rarely seen in the flesh.

Don’t believe us? It’s time to change your mind with the 15 Voice Actors Who Are Secretly Stunning!

15. Christy Carlson Romano as Kim Possible

ccr 15 Voice Actors Who Are Secretly Stunning

Kim Possible is the fiesty red-headed teenage cheerleader/international super spy that we all grew to know and love on the Disney Channel. She appeared with an oddball cast of characters, including Ron Stoppable, Shigo, and Dr. Drakken.

However, the actress behind the voice of Kim Possible, Christy Carlson Romano, also starred on another Disney Channel series at the same time — Even Stevens.

Romano is without a doubt incredibly attractive, so it’s no wonder that she appeared both on screen and behind it. She’s also an extremely talented singer — as evident with the “Say the Word” song from Kim Possible.

In addition, Romano has starred in a few Broadway musicals, including Annie, The Will Rogers Follies, and The Sound of Music.

14. Mila Kunis as Meg Griffin

mila kunis 1 15 Voice Actors Who Are Secretly Stunning

It’s a running joke on Seth MacFarlane’s Family Guy that Peter Griffin’s teenage daughter Meg is extremely gross and unattractive. Sometimes they’re downright cruel to the poor animated teen. However, little do the people of Quahog know that the woman behind the voice of Meg Griffin is actually the gorgeous Hollywood star Mila Kunis.

Kunis got her start on That ’70s Show and from there she was catapulted into fame in popular romantic comedies such as TedForgetting Sarah Marshall, and Friends with Benefits.

Kunis doesn’t look anything like Meg, but that doesn’t stop people from conflating the two. “‘Shut up, Meg.’ That’s the number one quote I get on the streets all day long from everything that I’ve done,” Kunis said in an interview with Rolling Stone.

“‘Shut up, Meg.’ All the time. ‘Shut up, Meg.’ It’s been 15 years! … All I can do is laugh,” she said.

13. Jennifer Tilly as Celia Mae

tilly 15 Voice Actors Who Are Secretly Stunning

Jennifer Tilly has voiced the bride of Chucky, Celia Mae in Disney Pixar’s Monsters, Inc., Camille Stout in Stuart Little, Grace in Homeward Bound, and countless other characters.

Since she is extremely well known for her voice work, many fans don’t often get to see Tilly in the flesh and thus it may come as a surprise that she is extremely stunning. Tilly’s looks carved their a place in Hollywood long before her most well-known voice acting roles.

The American-Canadian actress was nominated for an Academy Award for her on-camera work in 1994’s Bullets Over Broadway. She has also starred in Let It RideMade in AmericaBoundLiar Liar, and Bride of Chucky. She’s completely alluring to this day and we can never get enough of her red carpet appearances.

12. Lacey Chabert as Eliza Thornberry

lacey chabert 1 15 Voice Actors Who Are Secretly Stunning

One of the Nickelodeon’s ’90s cartoon staples was, of course, The Wild Thornberries. The main character, Eliza, was an awkward little girl with braces and messy red hair that she kept in braids.

She finally found the place that she fit in, however, when she gained the ability to talk to animals. With her parents, sister, adopted brother Donnie, and chimp best friend, she went on countless adventures in all kinds of unusual places around the world. Guess who voices the plucky protagonist? We’ll give you a hint: she was a star on Mean Girls.

Lacey Chabert, the radiant and hilarious actress who brought Gretchen Wieners to life in 2004, also voiced Eliza. Before Mean Girls, she’d been featured in other popular live-action movies, such as Daddy Day Care,  Not Another Teen Movie, and the TV show Party of Five. However, Mean Girls was the flick that put her on the map forever.

Before all of that, though, Chabert did a lot of voice work with Thornberries among other ventures — she was actually the voice of Meg Griffin in Family Guy‘s first season.

After her live-action spree, Chabert subsequently returned to voice work, and is currently featured on The Lion GuardVoltron: Legendary Defender, and Justice League Action.

11. Pamela Adlon as Bobby Hill

It devastated the world when the sweet and stunning Brittany Murphy died suddenly in 2009, leaving the role of Luanne Platter vacant on King of the Hill.

Murphy also had roles in CluelessRiding in Cars with BoysGirl, Interrupted, and Happy Feet, among countless other classics.  However, it may come as a surprise to most that the voice behind Hank Hill’s slow but goodhearted son Bobby is also stunning.

Pamela Adlon has many talents– she is a screenwriter, producer, director, and actress. She voiced Bobby Hill on King of the Hill from 1997 until 2010, a performance for which she received a Primetime Emmy.

Aldon has also lent her voice to the beloved children’s computer game character Pajama Sam and Spinelli on Recess. She also appeared on The Big Bang Theory as Halley and on Louie as Pamela, where she also served as a writer and producer, earning her four more Primetime Emmy nominations.

10. Mark Hamill as The Joker

hamill 15 Voice Actors Who Are Secretly Stunning

With the recent resurgence of Star Wars movies, one name is on the tip of everyone’s tongue: Mark Hamill. Known for his iconic performance as Luke Skywalker in the original trilogy, Hamill hasn’t been in the public eye a lot since then.

What many fans fail to realize, though, is that Hamill has another iconic role under his belt. He is also well known and widely hailed for his role as The Joker. In fact, many fans see him as the most accurate animated version of the villain to date.

He began voice acting in the 1970s for Hanna-Barbera Productions, but his prolific run as the Joker began in 1992’s Batman: The Animated Series. Since then he has performed the character in various spin-offs, video games, and movies.

Most recently, he voiced the Joker in The Killing Joke, a film with a plot that was met by some skepticism (some key elements from the story were changed, which upset fans and critics alike). Hamill’s performance in the movie, however, was heralded as the best of his animated career.

9. Seth MacFarlane as Peter Griffin

Seth MacFarlane is the mastermind behind Family Guy. Though his jokes are often seen as risqué and controversial, he is overall an extremely talented performer who has lent his voice to a wide variety of roles.

MacFarlane plays Peter Griffin and Brian the dog on Family Guy, Roger the alien on American Dad, the titular teddy bear from Ted, and countless other characters. As a talented voice actor and hilariously obnoxious writer, he has made a name for himself with shows such as Family GuyAmerican Dad, The Cleveland Show, and more recently, Orville.

He is also the executive director of Neil deGrasse’s Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey and sings, having released four studio albums and performed at countless venues.

8. John Mulaney as Andrew Glouberman

john mulaney 15 Voice Actors Who Are Secretly Stunning

The Netflix cartoon Big Mouth came out recently starring Nick Kroll, Jordan Peele, Maya Rudolph, Jenny Slate — all of whom are remarkably good-looking — but John Mulaney stands out as the big surprise. As a former Saturday Night Live writer, Mulaney’s stand-up performances have always been fantastic.

Though he got a chance to stand in front of a camera for the 2014 sitcom Mulaney, the hackneyed writing and dull, stereotypical premise got the show cancelled after a single season.

Big Mouth is a precocious, endearing, painfully awkward but heart-warming exploration of young friendships tested by hormones and the gross parts of growing up. It follows a bunch of kids hitting puberty– the only way to make it through is by working together with kindness, respect, and friendship.

In Big Mouth, John Mulaney plays main character Andrew, a boy who is maturing faster than his friends physically but not emotionally.

7. Tara Strong as Timmy Turner

PicMonkey Collage 15 Voice Actors Who Are Secretly Stunning

Tara Strong is a voice-acting legend. In her long and illustrious career, the Canadian-American actress has been the voice many characters. She has played Timmy Turner on The Fairly OddParents, Dil Pickles in Rugrats and All Grown Up!, Bubbles in The Powerpuff Girls (the original series), Ben Tennyson on Ben 10, Raven on Teen Titans and Teen Titans Go!, Twilight Sparkle in My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, and countless other characters.

Aside from her talent as an actress and a singer, she’s also incredibly stunning. However, don’t let her looks fool you, the talented performer has shown the world that he’s far more than just a pretty face. Strong has also lent her voice to video games, such as Mortal Kombat X, Final Fantasy X-2, and the Batman: Arkham series.

6. Kristen Schaal as Louise Belcher

schaal 15 Voice Actors Who Are Secretly Stunning

Kristen Schaal is a household name in the comedy community. Her distinctive voice also lends its talents to everything from Bob’s Burgers to Gravity Falls and numerous other shows in-between. While she often plays small children, her talent is not to be overlooked and earns her regular on-camera gigs, which are nothing short of brilliant.

Schaal is an unconventional beauty, but a stunner nevertheless. Her short bob of corkscrew curls and her ivory complexion make her look like a Grecian goddess, but her shrill voice stands in a hilarious juxtaposition to the vintage glamor style that she prefers.

Her roles on Flight of the Conchords and Last Man on Earth showcase her beauty and comedic genius on a regular basis to an avid fan following. She can go from a gorgeous pinup to a gregarious pinhead with her mastery over her facial muscles and her ability to do crazy eyes on command.

5. Jason Ritter as Dipper Pines

While there are no longer any new episodes, Disney’s runaway hit Gravity Falls is still very much a fan favorite — books and coloring books come out under their umbrella regularly, and there’s a reason why.

The intelligent and hilarious children’s animated series was also casted amazingly with the phenomenal Kristen Schaal voicing Mabel Pines and the role of Dipper Pines going to Jason Ritter. Ritter is best known for being featured on the MTV show Punk’d and his Emmy Award nominated performance on NBC’S Parenthood in 2012.

After experimenting in reality TV shows and dramas, Ritter evidently found his favorite niche in comedy since he is now in Kevin (Probably) Saves the World. With his puppy dog eyes, gallant smile, and just the right amount of scruff to be deemed cute, we’re certainly glad that we’ll be seeing more of him on camera.

4. Jenny Slate as Princess Pony Head

jenny slate 15 Voice Actors Who Are Secretly Stunning

Jenny Slate is no stranger to voice work — she’s voiced Mayor Bellweather in Disney’s Zootopia, she plays Missy on Big Mouth, Tammy on Bob’s Burgers, and Princess Pony Head on Star vs the Forces of Evil.

While we all knew that she was hilarious behind the mic, she also also proved her talent on screen, appearing in front of the camera in Obvious ChildParks and Recreation, and most recently, Maria Bamford’s Lady Dynamite. With these roles, it became obvious that Slate wasn’t just talented and funny — she is also gorgeous.

Jenny Slate is the girl next door who is smarter and funnier than you. She often rubs this in and we love her very much for it.

3. Jessica Walter as Fran Sinclair

jessica walter 15 Voice Actors Who Are Secretly Stunning

Jessica Walter has the rare distinction of playing more or less the same kind of animated and live-action characters — isn’t Archer‘s spymistress Malory Archer basically just a cartoon (and super spy) version of Lucille Bluth from Arrested Development?

Long before the Bluths and the Archers, however, the glamorous Jessica Walter was voicing Fran Sinclair as one of Jim Henson’s creations on the series Dinosaurs.

Walter was certainly a looker when she was younger, but she’s just as attractive today. Aside from her beauty, she has heaps of talent.

“My daughter, I’m proud to say, is senior vice president of ABC Family network,” she once said. “She could hire and fire me. She has hired me, but she has not fired me.” There’s a reason why, and it’s clear to see from her performances that it is certainly not nepotism.

2. Michael J. Fox as Stuart Little

fox 15 Voice Actors Who Are Secretly Stunning

Michael J. Fox was breaking hearts left and right in the ‘80s with his role on Family Ties and as Marty McFly in the Back to the Future trilogy. However, in the rest of the ‘80s and ‘90s he secured another television show and more Hollywood movies — Teen Wolf, Homeward Bound, Disney’s Atlantis: The Lost Empire, Doc Hollywood, and the titular mouse in Stuart Little.

Most recently, Fox has headed another television series, 2013’s The Michael J. Fox Show. He also makes recurring appearances on The Good Wife and Curb Your Enthusiasm.

After he was first diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease at the age of 29 in 1991, Fox semi-retired from acting as the symptoms worsened. He became an advocate for research into the disease, creating the Michael J. Fox Foundation.

1. Tim Curry as Nigel Thornberry

curry 15 Voice Actors Who Are Secretly Stunning

Tim Curry is the famed English actor, comedian, and singer best known for the role of Dr. Frank-N-Furter in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, the fantasy film Legend, the mystery comedy Clue, and the original Pennywise the clown from the miniseries It.

He’s also had several roles in TV shows, including Roseanne, The Tracey Ullman Show, Monk, Will & Grace, Psych, Criminal Minds, and more. However, many fans don’t know that he also lent his voice to Nigel Thornberry on The Wild Thornberries.

In his live-action roles, Curry’s rakish good looks and sly sideways smile made generations of viewers swoon.

Unfortunately, Tim Curry’s health has been doing pretty poorly in recent years. He suffered a major stroke in 2012 and as a result experiences paralysis in much of his body, confining him to a wheelchair. However, even through all of that, he has been a strong and inspiring figure to his many fans.
