Disney Plus' WandaVision promises to reunite Vision (Paul Bettany) and the Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), but there's one big hurdle to overcome: Vision is dead. The android perished (twice) in Avengers: Infinity War and he was one of the unfortunate souls who couldn't be resurrected by the Hulk and the Infinity Gauntlet in Avengers: Endgame, unlike Wanda Maximoff. The Scarlet Witch's death from Thanos' snap was reversed by the Avengers and she exacted a measure of revenge on the Mad Titan during Endgame's final battle. But how can Vision return from the dead for WandaVision?
Long portrayed as lovers in Marvel Comics, Vision and the Scarlet Witch both joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Wanda and her twin brother Pietro Maximoff/Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) were Sokovian citizens who joined Hydra and they gained their superpowers from the Mind Stone in Loki's scepter. Vision also came to life thanks to the Mind Stone, which fused JARVIS, Tony Stark's A.I., with the Vibranium body Ultron (James Spader) built as his final form to create the heroic android. Wanda and Ultron both became Avengers at the end of Age of Ultron and they developed feelings for each other before being split apart during Captain America: Civil War. Despite the Sokovia Accords branding Wanda as a fugitive, Vision still sought her out and the two continued their love affair in secret. After the events of Infinity War and Endgame, Wanda was last seen at Tony Stark's funeral alongside Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner) as they both respectively mourned Vision and Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson).
But, of course, Vision and Scarlet Witch's story is going to continue and the android has to come back somehow for WandaVision, which is set after Avengers: Endgame. The love between Wanda Maximoff and Vision is meant to be and, this being the MCU, a little something like death can't keep the Avengers' star-crossed lovers apart. Further, at San Diego Comic-Con, Kevin Feige described WandaVision as "unlike anything we've done before" while Paul Bettany amusingly claimed he had "no idea" what was going on with Vision. With this in mind, here are some options WandaVision can use to bring Vision back to life to reunite him with Scarlet Witch on Disney Plus.
Scarlet Witch Recreates Vision Using Her Mind Stone Powers
The first possibility is for Scarlet Witch to bring Vision back to life using her powers. After all, Scarlet Witch's abilities are derived from an Infinity Stone, which makes her one of the most powerful beings in the MCU. Thus far, the full scope of Wanda's powers haven't been defined but she has gradually become more powerful in each of her MCU appearances. In Age of Ultron, she exhibited psychic and telekinetic abilities, but by the time of Infinity War she could hold off Thanos in possession of five Infinity Stones while simultaneously destroying the Mind Stone. When a resurrected Scarlet Witch faced the Mad Titan again in Avengers: Endgame, she overpowered and nearly defeated him, which was extra humiliating for the 2014 version of Thanos who didn't even know who she was.
However, Scarlet Witch's powers could be further amplified in Phase 4 to bring her closer to the chaotic magic-wielding version in the comics. As such, she could possess the power to recreate Vision. The last time Vision was seen was in Wakanda at the end of Avengers: Infinity War, and it's possible his android body remains in the technologically advanced African nation. Wanda could travel to Wakanda for Vision, who could be physically repaired by Shuri (Letitia Wright). While there is no Mind Stone to give Vision consciousness, Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) theorized that there was enough of JARVIS, Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) and his own memory engrams in the android for him to function independently.
Besides, Wanda could possess enough of the Mind Stone's innate power to bring Vision back to life; if Scarlet Witch was powerful enough to destroy the Mind Stone, she might, in turn, be powerful enough to substitute for it.
Vision Could Really Just Be "Wanda's Vision"
At San Diego Comic-Con, Elizabeth Olsen said WandaVision is "gonna go weird, we're gonna get deep, we're gonna have lots of surprises". One way for the series to be weird would be if Vision doesn't really come back to life and instead is only "alive" in Wanda's mind. Scarlet Witch could have adventures while talking to and interacting with a manifestation of Vision who isn't really there and everyone else she encounters notices she's talking to "no one."
Wanda does have psychic abilities that haven't really been seen since she gave the Avengers prophetic waking dreams in Age of Ultron. What if, out of loneliness or desire to be with Vision, Scarlet Witch used this power on herself in order to see him? This would literally make the android "Wanda's Vision", thus justifying the unusual title of the Disney+ series, which fans expected to be called "Vision and the Scarlet Witch."
Scarlet Witch Saves Vision With Time Travel
In April, Elizabeth Olsen teased that WandaVision is set in the 1950s - which would certainly be weird considering neither MCU character has ties to that decade. Wanda and Vision living in domestic bliss during the Baby Boomer era could be a spin on both the classic Vision and the Scarlet Witch comics from the 1980s and the critically-acclaimed 2015 Vision comics written by Tom King. In the latter series, Vision is the father of an android family and the series explores the dark underbelly of the synthezoid's attempts at living a normal suburban life. Substitute Wanda as Vision's wife and place them in a 1950s setting (possibly with children somehow) and WandaVision instantly fulfills the promise of a "weird and surprising" series.
If there is time travel in WandaVision, then it's conceivable that's how Vision lives: Scarlet Witch goes to a time before his death and saves him. This would, per Avengers: Endgame's rules, create a new timeline, putting the show in a different part of the multiverse. It's a little unclear how Wanda could time travel since the Quantum Tunnels in Avengers: Endgame were destroyed along with the rest of the Avengers Compound, but there's definitely rebuild options; Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and his family could have constructed another gateway to the Quantum Realm that Wanda and Vision then could use to escape from the 2020s. A possible appearance by Ant-Man and his cast could also fulfill Kevin Feige's Comic-Con promise that "there are some other characters from the MCU who you've met before who will appear" in WandaVision.

Vision Could Come From The Multiverse
Speaking of other MCU characters appearing in WandaVision, Doctor Strange could apparate in the Disney Plus series to bridge into Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which takes place immediately after WandaVision and will guest star Scarlet Witch. Despite the lies told by Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) in Spider-Man: Far From Home, the Multiverse is a very real thing in the MCU. This could also mean that the Vision in WandaVision may not be the original, who might remain dead, and instead, a Vision from another dimension of the Multiverse meets the Scarlet Witch fans already know.
There might even be different versions of Vision (and possibly even Wanda) from different parts of the Multiverse in WandaVision. The traumatic results of meeting many different Visions could, in turn, bring about the fracturing of Wanda's mental state that turns the MCU's heroine closer to the chaotic and dangerous Scarlet Witch seen in the House of M comics - which could then lead from WandaVision into the Multiverse of Madness Doctor Strange has to take on in his sequel.
