With just over a year since the character was resurrected, a Vision-focused Disney+ series is reportedly being developed at Marvel Studios. Paul Bettany first appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the voice of Jarvis, Tony Stark's artificial intelligence program in his various Iron Man suits as well as Stark Tower and his home laboratory. Bettany would transition to live-action with Avengers: Age of Ultron as Vision, a combination of Jarvis and the Mind Stone, and would carry the role on through Captain America: Civil War and both Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, which initially saw his demise.

Bettany would later return, however, for WandaVision, Marvel's first Disney+ series that saw his and Elizabeth Olsen's titular characters wrapped up in a sitcom alternate reality created by Wanda out of her grief for killing Vision. The series would ultimately come to a head as S.W.O.R.D. successfully reassembled Vision's original body with his memory wiped and sent to take Wanda down, with her version able to restore their memories and the white-bodied Vision fleeing. Audiences have been curious to see what comes next for Bettany's beloved character in the MCU, and it looks like steps are being taken to bring him back.

In the latest episode of Jeff Sneider's The Hot Mic podcast, the Hollywood insider reported that a Vision Disney+ series is in development at Marvel. Sources claim that the studio is about to open up a writer's room for the project, which reportedly has the working title of Vision Quest. Screen Rant has reached out to Marvel and Disney for comment on the story, though has not received a response at the time of writing.

The Vision Disney+ Show Title's Importance Explained

Paul Bettany as White Vision in WandaVision, setting up the show Vision Quest

Should reports of a Vision Disney+ show prove true, it would offer the first major insight to plans for the character's MCU future, namely in its working title of Vision Quest. The title is one of the character's most memorable arcs in the Marvel Comics, being part of 1989's West Coast Avengers and finding the hero dismantled, his human brain patterns wiped out, his skin rendered chalk-white and essentially transforming him into more of a robotic being, as his memories would eventually be restored, though not his emotions. Vision Quest also saw him learn the truth of his children with the Scarlet Witch, as Wanda suffered a "hysterical pregnancy" in which her powers projected into creating imaginary children, who were wiped from existence upon the truth being revealed.

Given much of Vision Quest's storyline was already explored in WandaVision, it will be interesting to see how the reported Vision Disney+ show adapts the comic book arc, or if it moves away from it entirely. The first MCU series left off with only the white, restored version of Vision in existence within the world, but taking off to come to terms with his restored memories and their potential emotional impact, leaving the door open for the solo show to further dive into his struggles with said feelings. Additionally, given Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness left Wanda with a major cliffhanger ending for her arc, one can hope Bettany's Vision could set off to be reunited with his wife by the end of his series.
