Former Daredevil star, Vincent D'Onofrio, likes a tweet about recent rumors that he'll play Wilson Fisk, a.k.a. Kingpin again in Hawkeye. Marvel Studios is now bringing Marvel Cinematic Universe content to the small screen on an almost weekly basis thanks to Disney+. WandaVisionThe Falcon and The Winter Soldier, and Loki have all finished this year already, and more is on the way in 2021. As the MCU continues to grow on multiple fronts, the calls for other parts of Marvel TV's previous shows to enter the universe only grow.

Agent Carter's Jarvis actor previously appeared in Avengers: Endgame, but there are plenty of other characters fans want to see join the MCU properly. Agents of SHIELD's Quake (Chloe Bennet), Daredevil's Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), and Jessica Jones star Krysten Ritter are among top choices from fans of characters who deserve to return. It is heavily rumored that Spider-Man: No Way Home will do just that and feature Charlie Cox as Daredevil. Fans also desperately want Vincent D'Onofrio to return as Wilson Fisk after his memorable portrayal of the villain in Daredevil.

There have been plenty of rumors over the years that Vincent D'Onofrio could return in a future MCU project. However, nothing has happened so far, and legitimate sources of such information haven't mentioned that this is happening. Through it all, D'Onofrio has remained incredibly open to playing Kingpin again if he was given the chance. Now, the actor has liked a tweet referencing a rumor from Reddit that he'll appear in the Hawkeye Disney+ series starring Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld.

Even though D'Onofrio liked the tweet referencing the latest Kingpin return rumor, that should not be taken as confirmation that he will be in Hawkeye. The thought of Kingpin appearing in the show is exciting without a doubt, but perhaps that is exactly why D'ONofrio is liking this tweet. If he truly is returning in Hawkeye for a surprise appearance, Marvel Studios likely would instruct him to avoid any such chatter. For instance, everyone involved in Spider-Man: No Way Home denies Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will be in the movie, so it would be strange for D'Onofrio to not have similar guidelines to try and preserve the secret.

All that said, it would be great to one day see D'Onofrio play Kingpin again in an MCU movie or show. This could happen without Marvel canonizing the Netflix shows too, thanks to Loki splitting the multiverse. D'Onofrio has long hoped to appear alongside Tom Holland's Spider-Man, so he could be a great, grounded villain to throw at the web-slinger in Spider-Man 4 after No Way Home's multiverse story. Meanwhile, Fisk could also be a more natural fit in the Hawkeye spinoff show for Echo, as he raised Maya Lopez. Now, fans will just have to wait and see if D'Onofrio ever plays Kingpin again.
