In a touching new Instagram post, Vin Diesel and his daughter sing "Dear Theodosia" from the Hamilton musical. Diesel is best known for his portrayal of Dominic Toretto in the Fast & Furious franchise, and for voicing Groot in the Guardians of the Galaxy films. The actor is also reportedly slated to appear in the upcoming Avatar sequel. Outside of film, Diesel is also a passionate singer and musician who has released several electronic dance songs, including "Days Are Gone" and "Feel Like I Do."

Hamilton, the musical from Lin-Manuel Miranda, took the world by storm when it was first performed in 2015, and went on to win 11 Tony awards in 2016. The musical has since been performed across many cities in the U.S. as part of 2017 and 2018 national tours, and all over the world. The massive success and critical acclaim of the musical also led to the creation of a filmed version that was released on Disney+ in 2020. The official Hamilton soundtrack has also been incredibly successful and, as of July 2020, has sold over 1.9 million copies, which is a number almost unheard of in the genre.

In a heartfelt new post on his Instagram account, Vin Diesel and his daughter sing their very own version of "Dear Theodosia" from the Hamilton soundtrack. The song, which features some heavy auto-tune, plays over black and white video clips of his daughter riding a horse around a large property. In less than 24 hours since Diesel first posted the clip, it has been viewed over 334,000 times. See the full video below:

The post has already earned a number of positive comments from fans, including one from popular YouTube video essayist Patrick Willems, who wrote, "Vin this rules." Other fans have responded with heart emojis and have praised both Vin and his daughter's singing voices. Others still have lightly poked fun at the Fast & Furious franchise's heavy-handed themes revolving around the importance of family with funny comments like, "The horse is family" and "lemme write: family."

While the actual musical quality of the cover is perhaps up for debate, that doesn't seem to be the point of the post. Diesel, much like Dom Toretto, does seem to hold family in high regard. The post feels very much like a love letter to his daughter and a special bonding moment for the two. Although it's unclear if there's any more original music from Diesel in the pipeline, this latest Instagram video suggests the Fast & Furious star is still very much interested in dabbling in the musical arts when not busy with his film projects.
