Part of the fun of the Marvel Cinematic Universe films for comic book fans, has been getting to see some of their favorite characters and superheroes interact and team up with each other. There have been moments like that aplenty in The Avengers films, and in Captain America: Civil War in particular, to applause-worthy results in both. For many fans, that's one of the most exciting aspects of the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War as well, in addition to getting to see the Infinity Gauntlet story on the big screen and Josh Brolin's Thanos getting to do more than just grin at the camera, after years of teases.

In terms of character interactions in Avengers: Infinity War, one of the crossovers that fans have been openly most excited about is the eventual meeting between Earth's Mightiest Heroes, The Avengers, and the Guardians of the Galaxy. It looks like fans aren't the only ones excited about seeing these characters share a screen with each other, either.

While speaking with Screen Rant at the xXx: Return of Xander Cage junket, in fact, Vin Diesel talked briefly about how excited he is to be a part of Infinity War, and the Avenger team member he's most looking forward to seeing his Groot cross paths with:

"Good question. I’m excited about Baby Groot; he’s just too fun. And in Infinity War, I have to talk to the Russo brothers and find out how this is all gonna go down. I know somewhere in the Marvel universe there is a moment when you will see Groot and Hulk have a few words."

SR: [laughs] A few words!

"I think there’s gonna be a moment that we’re all waiting for, and whether you know it or not, you are waiting to see Groot and the Hulk get down.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 - Baby Groot and nuke

A Groot and Hulk team-up has been one of the most talked about (and wanted) crossovers for the past few years. It's all the more interesting to think about, based on how different the characters really are from each other, despite both being giant, green (well, greenish in Groot's case), superstrong beings. Groot, for instance, never loses the lovable and gentle quality that makes him so adorable, while The Hulk is a rage-fueled ball of strength that not even his own team members can always control.

Diesel hints at one of the biggest questions that fans will probably have going into Infinity War too: whether or not it will feature a fully grown Groot or the Baby Groot version fans are getting in this year's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. The latter version has been one of the most talked about aspects of the sequel and depending on how big of a hit he ends up being with fans, it's entirely possible that Baby Groot will appear in Infinity War. All of it will likely come down to the time between the two films, of course, and the Avengers would probably benefit more from having a fully-grown version of Groot on their team. Still, even Diesel seems uncertain as to which version of Groot will appear in the next Avengers film.

No matter which way it ends up going, though, it seems like the one interaction the actor is sure will be included, also happens to be one fans have been waiting years to see. What exactly Diesel means by "a few words" will have to wait to be seen (after all, Groot's vocabulary only consists of a few words as it is), but there's no denying how exciting it is just to think about the kinds of team-ups and crossovers that Infinity War has in store.
