People went nuts when they finally got to see Spider-man alongside the Avengers in Captain America Civil War. And now that production has started on his solo movie, we’re starting to get a little more info about it.
While speaking to Collider at Comic-Con, Homecoming star Tom Holland teased a little bit about what makes the movie different. He said:
"This is a very different side to Spider-Man. Because you're going to see a kid dealing with everyday problems that a 15 year old deals with, as well as trying to save the city. He's conflicted because of what it is he's trying to do and what it is that's going on with the whole Avengers. In the universe. Because, obviously, after CIVIL WAR we still don't really know what's happening. And he's in the middle of that world. So that's very exciting to explore that. Also just to see a kid in high school figure out what to do with his super powers is really fun."
Director Jon Watts also coyly teased that we’ll be seeing some pretty awesome Spidey-tech in the movie - he said:
“Well the suit that Spidey was given in Civil War is a Stark suit, so you have to wonder, with a Stark suit, what else can it do?”
It’s a brief statement, but enough to make your mind explode with possibilities. Things that come to mind are Spider tracers - tiny tracking devices that allow Peter to follow his target. It could also be spider-bots, that basically act as drones. Or maybe it’s something we’ve never even seen before. As far as teases go, this is definitely a tease that gets the imagination running.
As for other upcoming Marvel movies, super-producer Kevin Feige says that they have a pretty good idea of what their 2020-2021 movies will be - and they have 3 movies a year coming out leading up to that. So get ready for lots of Marvel.
