The most monstrous, creepiest, and above all else, menacing version of Venom is preparing to unleash itself upon the Marvel Universe. It was only one month ago that Marvel promised readers an impending multiverse event known now as Extreme Venomverse, which arrives just in time for the character's 35th anniversary. The comics debut of Venom is set to be celebrated through an entire season of symbiote-focused stories, which itself will be referred to as the Summer of Symbiotes. Extreme Venomverse will officially commence starting in April 2023, but not without a bevy of anticipated fanfare and teasing.

Marvel's latest tease reveals three brand-new symbiotes set to make their hotly anticipated debut during the Venomverse event. Each of these three characters consumes the front of Leinil Francis Yu's cover art for Al Ewing, David Pepose, Clay McLeod Chapman, Vencenzo Carratu, Ken Lashley, and Paul Davidson's Extreme Venomverse #2. The three new creatures include Black Cat aka Felicia Hardy with her very own symbiote, the cyborg L.M.V. better known as Life-Model Venom, and a Venom from Marvel 1602 that Marvel calls "the creepiest Venom ever!"

Venom In His Creepiest Form Yet

Venom and Black Cat enter the VenomVerse

The Extreme Venomverse, as both an arc and a five-part miniseries, is expected to be a much darker counterpart to what was achieved through the Edge of Spider-Verse more recently. On top of delivering fans all-new, never-before-seen versions of Venom, the story will also be a massive turning point for both main versions of Venom, Dylan and Eddie Brock. Everything will be leading towards a fantastical culmination in The Death of the Venomverse. Only time will tell as to which symbiote will live to see the end of this journey.

Felicia Hardy's symbiote seems to have turned Marvel's greatest cat burglar into a true monster. Her head is mostly free, but her teeth are sharpened and her mouth is dripping with drool that's commonly associated with Venom. The Marvel 1602 Venom appears to live up to its reputation as the "creepiest Venom ever," as it includes a wide collar and a headpiece resembling a medieval court jester. L.M.V. sports the classic look, size, and stature of Venom, along with an alarming mechanical arm and a cybernetic eye to match. The conception of this form is reminiscent of Cyborg Spider-Man, but far more disturbing.

Readers already got to see fairly recently what Venom's most brutal form yet looks like when Eddie Brock was transformed into the terrifying Bedlam, complete with a chainsaw arm. Now, Extreme Venomverse has the potential to introduce forms of the Lethal Protector that are even more terrifying. Be ready for Venom's latest incarnation to terrify a nearby comic book stand when Extreme Venomverse #2 drops on May 24.
