Venom's daughter Scream battles Carnage for the fate of all symbiotes this July in Marvel's Extreme Carnage event. The end of the King in Black event is creating a new event as a result. Marvel's symbiotes are not done telling their stories - they're only just getting started. The symbiote saga is continuing on.

There have been numerous symbiotes in the Marvel Universe. The most popular are Venom and Carnage, while other major symbiotes include Toxin, Anti-Venom, Knull, and Plague. There have been other symbiotes, some of which, like Venom's daughter, may be featured in this upcoming event. Anti-Venom, Scream, and Phage have already been announced as being included. The Klyntar, as they're also known, have long been fan-favorites, most often associated with Spider-Man. They first appeared in the Marvel Universe following the Secret Wars.

According to the press release from Marvel, the next symbiote event will be Extreme Carnage. The first issue will be Extreme Carnage Alpha #1 and then one-shots will continue the event by focusing on other symbiotes. Andrea "Andi" Benton will begin this showcasing with Extreme Carnage: Scream #1. Andi will need to find a way to stop Carnage's plan in order to save all the other symbiotes, particularly since hers is being negatively affected by something unseen. The summary for Extreme Carnage: Scream #1 is as follows:

Andi Benton has always been a fighter, and that’s never been truer than since she bonded to the Scream symbiote a few months ago. But even after Absolute Carnage and King in Black, Andi has never had to fight like this — and, worse still, if she can’t save her symbiote from whatever unseen force is affecting it, she might have to do it alone…

Extreme Carnage: Scream #1 will be written by Clay McLeod Chapman with art by Chris Mooneyham. They are the same team that wrote the 2019 series, Scream: Curse of Carnage, which was the last series she was in leading up to the events of King in Black. Andi was previously paired with Mania, another symbiote, who was a clone of Venom, before Scream - resurrected by Knull - saved her during a fight with Carnage. This new bonding occurred during Absolute Carnage from 2019. Andi was not the first host for Scream, who was previously bonded to Patricia Robertson and before that to Donna Diego.

Scream first appeared paired to Donna Diego in Venom: Lethal Protector #4 from 1993. The symbiotes have a long and complicated history with many relatives and variations of Venom. The events of Absolute Carnage and King in Black have now opened a new chapter in Marvel comics, which fans can begin experiencing in July. Extreme Carnage: Scream #1 will release on July 14, 2021. Whatever happens next, fans are bound to be excited that Marvel is focusing a lot of its attention on CarnageVenom, his offspring like Scream, and their symbiote saga.
