Warning: Spoilers for Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Tom Hardy's Venom is a central character of Sony's Spider-Man villain universe, and Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man is the perfect Web-Slinger for him to face in Venom 3. Hardy debuted as Eddie Brock in 2018's Venom and reprised the role in its 2021 sequel Venom: Let There Be Carnage. Despite Venom being one of Spider-Man's most famous and popular villains, the specifics of his film series being outside of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have thus far precluded him from having a confrontation with Spidey.

The end-credits scene of Let There Be Carnage planted the seeds for one when Eddie and Venom were transported into the MCU, with Venom seeing Tom Holland's Spider-Man having his identity revealed on TV. However, Spider-Man: No Way Home didn't end up setting this up, with Eddie and Venom sent back into their world after a brief period in the MCU. However, there are multiple Web-Slinger's in the Multiverse, and Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker brings numerous advantages to be the Spidey that Hardy's Venom is connected to.

Like Hardy, Garfield appears in Spider-Man: No Way Home via the Multiverse, albeit in a much more significant role as one of the heroes of the film alongside Tom Holland and Tobey Maguire's Spider-Men. With Garfield's Spider-Man specifically being a Sony version of the character, there'd be fewer hoops to jump through to make such a Spidey-Venom meeting happen than with Holland's version. There's also some significant support for the idea of Garfield returning after No Way Home.

Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock encased in Venom in Let There Be Carnage

Following the release of No Way Home, fans have begun calling for Sony to bring Garfield back in The Amazing Spider-Man 3 on social media. While no future Spider-Man movies with Garfield have yet been announced, the Multiverse shown in No Way Home, along with Garfield's return in the film, now makes non-MCU Spider-Man movies possible on Sony's part. Sony already has multiple Marvel-based projects on the way aside from the Venom movies, including Morbius and Kraven the Hunter, and the return of Garfield could give the studio the chance to build something like the Spider-Man universe that The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was unable to get off the ground.

Garfield making a cameo in Venom 3 could be an entry point for his Spider-Man to meet Hardy's Venom, and they also wouldn't necessarily need to be enemies. In the comics, Venom has teamed up with Spider-Man on multiple occasions, most notably in the Maximum Carnage story. With Eddie Brock having wanted to find Spider-Man in his No Way Home appearance, encountering a different one from Holland's could deliver on this concept, with the two becoming allies against a different villain such as the never used-before Hobgoblin. Furthermore, with Garfield's Peter Parker being the version who tells jokes with the most frequency, his and Venom's attitudes could blend together quite well. Spider-Man: No Way Home opened many possibilities for the different Wall-Crawlers of the Multiverse, and Garfield's Spidey returning to cross paths with Hardy in Venom 3 could be the perfect pay-off for both of them.
