WARNING: Spoilers for Venom: Let There Be Carnage

Spider-Man actor Tom Holland hypes the release of Venom: Let There Be Carnage and teases ongoing rumors. After The Amazing Spider-Man 2 failed to make an impression on fans, Sony rebooted the character for a third time, casting Holland as the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. Instead of being a stand-alone series like Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's movies, Sony made a deal to include the next iteration of Spider-Man in the MCU.

Holland first appeared as Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War before getting two solo films and playing a crucial role in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. While the studios are sharing Spider-Man, Sony is also working on their Universe of Marvel Characters, which includes movies like Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Morbius, and Kraven the Hunter. Despite there being a clear desire from fans to see Tom Hardy's Venom and Holland's Spider-Man meet, the two haven't crossed paths just yet. Leading up to the premiere of Venom: Let There Be Carnage, there was a campaign to not spoil the end of the movie, which led many to believe Spider-Man would be making an appearance.

Holland is now fueling those rumors on Instagram by hyping the release of Venom 2. While congratulating director Andy Serkis, Hardy, and Sony, Holland also seemed to be teasing that those Spider-Man rumors are true. Check out a screenshot of his Instagram story below:

Fans who have seen the movie already know that Holland does in fact show up during the mid-credits scene of Venom: Let There Be Carnage. Venom and Eddie Brock go on vacation after defeating Carnage and end up traveling through the multiverse to the MCU. The news report of Peter Parker being identified as Spider-Man is shown on their TV, and Venom licks the screen as Parker's picture pops up. With Amy Pascal previously teasing a potential crossover and Vulture showing up in the Morbius trailer, it was all but confirmed that Hardy and Holland would soon be sharing the screen.

Even though Venom is now connected with the MCU, there's no telling where he might pop up. The most likely spot would be in Spider-Man: No Way Homeas that movie seems to be setting up the Sinister Six from multiple different universes; Jamie Foxx's Electro and Alfred Molina's Doc Ock are already confirmed. Previous Spider-Man sequels have suffered from stuffing too many villains into a single movie, so if Venom does appear in Spider-Man: No Way Home, his role likely won't be very big. It's too early to tell if Venom: Let There Be Carnage will be a box office success for Sony, but bringing Venom to the MCU will likely be a smart move for both Sony and Disney. As for Holland, he seems to just be having fun teasing fans who haven't seen the sequel yet.
