Sony unveils new posters for Venom: Let There Be Carnage offering a closer look at the difference in designs between the Venom and Carnage symbiotes. The 2018 predecessor first teased the arrival of the villainous symbiote in a follow-up with its post-credits scene introducing Woody Harrelson's Cletus Kasady, the human host of Carnage. The upcoming sequel will see Kasady become the host to Carnage and go on a murderous rampage through San Francisco, with Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock/Venom the only ones capable of stopping him.

Alongside Hardy and Harrelson, the cast for Venom: Let There Be Carnage will see the returns of Michelle Williams as Eddie's ex Anne Weying, Reid Scott as Anne's new fiancé Dan Lewis and Peggy Lu as local convenience store owner Mrs. Chen. The sequel will also feature the introductions of Naomie Harris as Shriek, the super-powered villain and love interest to Kasady, and Stephen Graham as a local detective searching for the remains of Kasady's murder victims. Initially slated for a late September 2021 release, Venom: Let There Be Carnage saw yet another delay due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and is now set to hit theaters on October 15.

On the heels of delaying the film's release by two weeks, Sony has unveiled two new posters for Venom: Let There Be Carnage. Each poster offers a closer look at the villainous symbiote and the difference in design in comparison to the vigilante, with one poster melding their faces together akin to the first film's poster featuring half of Hardy's face and half of Venom's. Though the design of Venom in the 2018 film was harder to see in its frequently dimly lit scenes, the work put into the heroic symbiote did create a lot of anticipation for what Carnage would look like in the sequel. The trailers released for the film thus far have done well to build on that fan excitement for the arrival of the villainous symbiote, revealing plenty of well-lit footage of Carnage and the mayhem he is causing throughout the film. With how notorious and well-loved Carnage is by fans of the comics, he is being considered by many as the key to the film's success in comparison to the poor reception of the first Venom.

The new posters for Venom: Let There Be Carnage certainly go even further to highlight the differences between the symbiotes and the sheer terror that Carnage will bring to the screen. His red color aside, the sleeker build of Carnage looks to be translating towards a more monstrous depiction than his counterpart, including sharper claws, the ability to create multiple weaponized appendages and a more menacing set of teeth. Only time will tell the danger Carnage will bring to the screen when Venom: Let There Be Carnage hits theaters in October.
