A new fan-made poster for Venom 2 brings balance to the Spidey villain universe. The Symbiote villain made his first appearance back in the '80s, but the popular Spider-Man character got his first solo movie last year from director Ruben Fleischer. Venom got mixed reviews from fans and critics upon its release, but Sony didn't waste any time developing a sequel.

At the beginning of the year, Sony announced that they were officially moving forward on Venom 2, which will be rated PG-13 like its predecessor. Sony has recruited Andy Serkis to direct the film, which will bring back Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock and Michelle Williams as Anne Weying. While Venom featured the symbiote Riot as the main villain of the film, Venom 2 will feature Woody Harrelson as Carnage. Naomie Harris is also in negotiations to play Shriek: a villain with romantic ties to Cletus Kasady. No marketing material for Venom 2 has come out just yet since the film hasn't even started filming, but fan artwork for Venom 2 has already started making its way online.

Cvialet_art recently posted a fan-made teaser poster for Venom 2, which shows Venom and another symbiote in the shape of a yin-yang symbol. Eagle-eyed fans will also notice that one of Carnage's tendrils is lurking at the bottom right of the poster. The artist's full artwork can be seen below:

While Carnage will be making his live-action debut in Venom 2, Sony also has plans to include Spider-Man in a future Venom sequel. Fans were devastated back in August to hear that Spider-Man was leaving the Marvel Cinematic Universe since Sony and Marvel had failed to strike a deal on the character's future. At the end of September, it was announced that Spidey was back in the MCU, but there are growing rumors that Marvel has plans to write Spider-Man out of the MCU. While that may be disappointing for fans, they can look forward to seeing Spider-Man and Venom square off in a future film since Fleischer has confirmed that a Spider-Man and Venom crossover will happen, eventually. While Venom 2 will more than likely focus on the battle between Venom and Carnage, it's possible that Spider-Man could theoretically make a cameo appearance.

Venom 2 was rumored to begin filming this month, but that hasn't been confirmed just yet. Venom 2 is thought to be releasing in October 2020, and if that is the case, then fans will likely start to get marketing material here in the next few months once filming is officially underway. For now however, fans will have to wait patiently and enjoy impressive fan artwork like the example above.
