Tom Hardy has shared new behind-the-scenes photos from Venom: Let There Be Carnage that show off his stunt work for the film, as well as a glimpse at his adorable dog, Blue. Hardy stars in the newly released Venom: Let There Be Carnage, which was released in the US last week following a string of delays due to COVID-19. The sequel to 2018's Venom, took on a new director in the form of Lord of the Rings star Andy Serkis, as well as bringing back Woody Harrelson's Cletus Kasady in a larger role and welcoming and Naomie Harris to the cast as Carnage's lover, Shriek.

The overall reaction to the sequel has been largely positive, with many fans taking to social media to share their praise for the film. The story centers around Hardy's character Eddie Brock as he grapples with the challenge of playing host to an alien symbiote named Venom, who lives inside his body and is hell-bent on eating people. Knowing this, it's not hard to imagine that the film involved a lot of stunt-work and special effects, however, despite the somewhat grotesque nature of Venom's story, the sequel maintained its PG-13 rating, in line with the first film. This less-restrictive rating is likely to have aided the movie in smashing its opening weekend at the box office, as Venom: Let There Be Carnage is estimated to have grossed around $90.1 million.

Now, Hardy has taken to Instagram to share some behind-the-scenes shots of the making of Venom: Let There Be Carnage, as well as sharing a sweet photo of his charming pup, Blue. One of the images shows Hardy suspended on wires, in his character's signature letterman jacket. Another shows Serkis and the film's cinematographer Robert Richardson alongside a bust of Venom, a model that may have been used to indicate where Venom would appear in scenes following post-production. Another shot simply shows Hardy, Serkis, Richardson, and a number of other crew members on set, with Hardy giving a thumbs-up to the camera. Check out the images below.

Hardy's involvement with the Venom franchise is incredibly hands-on, as he not only plays the lead character, but he also provides the voice for Venom. However, with Venom: Let There Be Carnage, his involvement was taken a step further as the actor was also credited for writing the story for the sequel. Hardy's passion for this film has been evident throughout the sequel's press tour and this collection of images only further confirms his admiration for the project. Over the past few weeks, fans of Hardy will have become well-acquainted with his beautiful french bulldog, Blue, who is featured in one of the images, as the adorable pup has made a number of appearances throughout the star's promotional run for the film, even appearing at a Venom fan event in London last month.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage's box office success is only likely to continue, with the film still not set for release in the UK until October 15. With a two-week difference between the US and UK release dates, Hardy previously took to Instagram to share a fun poster that encouraged audiences to keep spoilers to themselves until fans across the world had had the chance to see the film. For those who have seen it, these behind-the-scenes photos will be a fun call-back to film. As for those who are still waiting for the chance to see what's in store for Eddie and Venom in Venom Let There Be Carnage, these photos simply act as a teaser of what's to come.
