Sony debuts a new video for Venom: Let There Be Carnage offering insight into the powers of Naomie Harris' Shriek and relationship with Cletus Kasady. Harris' super-powered villain makes her debut in the Sony's Spider-Man Universe sequel as an inmate at Ravencroft Asylum who escapes with serial killer Kasady/Carnage and goes on a murderous rampage through San Francisco. Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock and Venom must use the symbiote's powers to put a stop to the duo before it's too late.

Hardy returns as the lead for Venom: Let There Be Carnage alongside Woody Harrelson's Kasady/Carnage, Michelle Williams, Reid Scott and Peggy Lu, with Harris and Stephen Graham making their SSU debuts. The film marks the second installment in Sony's burgeoning comic book universe, which will be followed by the Jared Leto-starring Morbius in 2022 and Aaron Taylor-Johnson-led Kraven the Hunter, currently set for a January 2023 release. After suffering COVID-19-related delays in its release schedule, Venom: Let There Be Carnage is set to arrive in theaters this week.

With just a few days remaining until the film's anticipated arrival, Sony has unveiled a new video for Venom: Let There Be Carnage. The featurette offers a better exploration of Shriek's powers and the nature of her relationship with Kasady and Carnage in the film. Check out the new video below:

As with a recent clip for the film, the new featurette for Venom: Let There Be Carnage offers a far better look at Harris' Shriek after primarily sidelining her in the marketing in favor of highlighting Carnage. The video features an interesting explanation for the nature of Shriek's powers, in which she actually absorbs the sounds around her to manipulate for whatever means necessary, keeping the character true to her abilities in the various Spider-Man comics. While still keeping the history of their relationship unknown, the video also offers a better display of her and Kasady's feelings for one another and the mayhem that ensues when they're together.

Early reactions to Venom: Let There Be Carnage have proven to be a mixed bag of praise for its entertainment value and criticism for its lack of narrative improvements from the first film, though the relationship between Shriek and Carnage has been singled out by some as a better element with Natural Born Killers vibes. The newest video does well to offer a glimpse of that relationship in the sequel and build anticipation for its depiction in the film. Only time will tell how fans feel about it when Venom: Let There Be Carnage arrives in theaters on Friday.
