A new clip for Venom: Let There Be Carnage offers a look at the introduction of Naomie Harris' Shriek as she threatens her prison guards. Created by Tom DeFalco and Ron Lim, Shriek made her comic book debut in 1993's Spider-Man Unlimited No. 1, better known as the "Maximum Carnage" storyline, as an antagonist locked away in the Ravencroft mental institution who escapes with Cletus Kasady/Carnage and joined him on a killing spree. The two would frequently be depicted as lovers in the comics moving forward and Shriek would often appear as an enemy of Spider-Man.

Shriek will be making her live-action and cinematic debut in Venom: Let There Be Carnage as a supporting villain to Woody Harrelson's Kasady, who becomes imbued with the titular red symbiote after a meeting with Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock. Much like their comic book source, the two embark on a murderous rampage that Eddie and Venom must work together to stop before it's too late. Harris stars in the film alongside Hardy, Harrelson, Michelle Williams, Stephen Graham, Reid Scott and Peggy Lu.

Sony (Via Bloody Disgusting) has debuted a new clip for Venom: Let There Be Carnage leading up to the film's release next week. The new video offers a look at the introduction of Harris' Shriek in the film and the efforts taken by the prison staff to deter her super powers. Check out the intriguing new clip below:

Up to this point, audiences have not been given many proper looks at Harris' Shriek, making the latest clip an exciting tease for what can be expected from her debut in Venom: Let There Be Carnage. Though the new video doesn't show her using her powers, it does offer a look at just how dangerous her abilities are, with the guards inserting both noice cancelling wireless earphones and headphones typically seen in gun ranges. Previous footage has teased the potential destruction her sound-manipulation powers hold, which makes the extra steps taken by the guards wise ones.

Given the anticipation surrounding the arrival of Carnage in Venom: Let There Be Carnage, it's understandable the majority of the marketing would elect to highlight the mayhem the red symbiote brings as well as the chilling charisma of Harrelson's turn as Kasady. Though generally known as Carnage's partner in the comics, Shriek is a powerful villain in her own right, which will hopefully be properly explored in the upcoming sequel if not in future Sony's Spider-Man Universe installments. Only time will tell when Venom: Let There Be Carnage hits theaters on October 1.
