Rumors about Vanessa Hudgens playing Catwoman in Warner Bros.' The Batman have led to fan art depicting what she could look like in the role. Ever since reports came out that Robert Pattinson might be playing the Dark Knight himself, anticipation has been building for who might fill out the rest of the cast. Among the reports of which characters will appear, Selina Kyle crops up as a safe bet for the love interest and sometimes antagonist.

Though there was no trace of Catwoman in Batman's last few big screen appearances, she left a huge and lasting mark on him in the comics. She also played a major part in iconic films such as The Dark Knight Rises and Batman Returns. These factors, combined with some unofficial talk about potential casting, are the perfect recipe for DC fans and artists to let their imaginations run wild envisioning what Matt Reeves' upcoming film could do with her.

One such fan is mizuriofficial, a digital artist hailing from Melbourne who created a mockup poster of Hudgens in the role and posted it to Instagram. In the edit, Hudgens can be seen in a black outfit complete with Selina's signature cat ears, and glowing eyes for good measure. The post's caption alluded to the rumors surrounding the possible casting, although it's important to note that nothing substantial has actually emerged as of yet to suggest that Hudgens has been or will be cast.

Hudgens is perhaps best known for the High School Musical films, and she'll soon appear in the Bad Boys threequel, titled Bad Boys For Life. She's done comic book films before, playing Camille in an adaptation of Dark Horse's Polar. She's even familiar with the world of DC, having starred in the NBC series Powerless, which recounted the lives of office workers caught in the middle of superhero battles.

She seems to be a potentially good match for Pattinson's possible Batman, at least based on the above post, which also includes a poster imagining him as the Caped Crusader against the iconic backdrop of Gotham City. Although Pattinson faced backlash and mockery after his reported casting, thanks to leftover Twilight animosity, there's seemingly no such bitterness towards Hudgens' Disney Channel days. And while he proved his acting chops in other little-known indie films, she's also established herself more fully in the industry in recent years. If DC Comics is looking for their next live-action Catwoman, Hudgens would be a fine choice.
