Lala Kent from Vanderpump Rules has been proud of her sobriety journey, but after hearing her ex-fiance Randall Emmett’s comments about it, she realized that he wasn’t fully supportive of her. VPR star Lala shared that she became sober in 2018 after she had an epiphany while returning from a trip to Walt Disney World with Randall, where she was drunk for four days straight. Since then, she hasn’t touched a drop of alcohol and has been open about sobriety being the best decision of her life.
After Lala found incriminating photos of Randall with two women, they ended their engagement. Soon afterward, more evidence of Randall cheating and lying about his finances was discovered. To make matters worse, Lala also found out that the engagement ring Randall gave her was fake. It didn't have a diamond valued at $150,000 as she'd been led to believe. While talking about this issue, she let fans know that she went to a jeweler and discovered the truth about her engagement ring, which had a value far lower than she'd thought.
Although she has been through a very emotional and public breakup, Lala revealed that her sobriety is the most important thing in her life and indicated that it's vital to her well-being. On a recent episode of Juicy Scoop with Heather McDonald, Lala shared that she heard a gut-wrenching comment Randall made about her sobriety. An unnamed friend revealed to Lala that Randall said, “Lala used to be really fun, kinky, and sexy, but you know then she got sober.” Lala told Heather that when she heard that, it was like taking a bullet. Lala has been very proud of her sobriety and said, “Being sober is the best thing that’s ever happened to me, no thanks to him.”
Reality star Lala feels particularly betrayed by Randall’s comment because she shared that he had previously told her, “If you ever pick up a drink again, we’ll be done.” Despite his words, Lala believes that Randall started having affairs after she stopped drinking. Lala told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, “It’s been kind of repeated behavior that I have found out about. And it’s not just one person, it’s many. I believe it started after I got sober.” On WWHL, via Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on YouTube, Lala shared that when she was on a recent trip, Randall refused to let her see his hotel room, preferring to talk in the lobby instead. Lala admitted that throughout their relationship, she had her head in the sand and ignored a lot of red flags, many of which she started facing after she stopped drinking.
Becoming sober was the best thing Lala could have done for herself and her daughter Ocean Emmett, and right now, her priority is her daughter. She shared that her whole relationship with Randall was based on lies, and the only true thing to come out of it was Ocean. Fans have seen a big change from Lala since her first Vanderpump Rules days when she used to drink and cause fights with other cast members. Lala still stirs up trouble with her outspoken, blunt personality, but fans love seeing her embrace motherhood and support her fully on her sobriety journey.
