Back in March, Tom and Katie told fans in separate Instagram posts that they decided to get divorced. While the news was jarring, it didn’t come as a surprise to many. The couple has starred on Vanderpump Rules since season 1, and fans witnessed their turbulent relationship for years.
Tom and Katie’s relationship took a hit when he confessed to cheating on Katie in Vanderpump Rules season 3. While she decided to give him another chance, his lack of commitment to her caused her to think twice, especially after he presented her with a ring on a string. Despite his commitment issues, Tom finally proposed to Katie with a real engagement ring, and the two tied the knot in 2016. It was later revealed that Tom didn’t file the paperwork correctly, so their marriage wasn’t legal. The Vanderpump Rules stars finally made it official in 2019 during a trip to Las Vegas.
Since the announcement of their separation, Tom and Katie were still living together in their Los Angeles home, which they bought in 2019. However, as reported by Page Six, Katie shared an Instagram Story on Sunday of her posing in front of cardboard boxes. She wrote, “Update...in case you’re wondering...I just live amongst a sea of boxes. Moving in 2 days.” Tom shared a picture of their two dogs, Gordo and Butter, standing on top of a staircase with the caption, “Children of divorce.” Katie previously stated that both she and Tom wanted to move out of their Valley Village house, as the four-bedroom home was too large for a single person.
The Vanderpump Rules stars naturally have shared friends since starring on the show for nine years. Raquel Leviss recently stated that certain cast members such as Scheana Shay feel torn between Tom and Katie. However, Katie has said that she adamantly told her friends not to take sides. Since the split, she and Tom have been trying to keep their relationship amicable and remain friends. They were even spotted having lunch together five days after announcing their split. Vanderpump Rules fans hoped that the pair was reconciling, but Katie filed for divorce just a few weeks later.
Tom and Katie’s separation came on the heels of two major Vanderpump Rules breakups. James Kennedy and Raquel announced the end of their engagement during the season 9 reunion, which came as a shock to their fellow cast members.
