Vanderpump Rules star Stassi is receiving backlash over a caption on one of her selfies that made light of mental illness. The queen of social media is no stranger to controversy, but fans feel she stepped over the line on this one.
Vanderpump Rules follows around the privileged life of a group of California servers who work for Lisa Vanderpump who was a housewife on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. The employees work between three restaurants compromised of SUR, TOM TOM, and Pump. The original castmates have grown up, gotten married, and bought houses in the valley. Stassi has been a well-liked character since season one as she was always a straight shooter and a hot mess all rolled up into one.
Stassi and her camera phone have an intense love affair that nobody could break up. According to The Blast, the reality star may have gone a step too far with a recent snap of herself. The Bravo personality has been attacked for a socially insensitive post that seemed to target the mentally ill. The petite blonde has always had a wicked sense of humor and with a love of all things death, she has always been an odd ball. The author has been stuck inside like the rest of us and even announced the postponement of her wedding due to the coronavirus. The reality star’s social media is a barraged of wine drinking selfies and “natural” couch looks. But one Instagram post resonated with her fans and even caused many to be upset with her. The Vanderpump Rules star posted a selfie of her on the couch, looking very put together, and captioned the snap: “This is what spiraling looks like. I need a brush and a Prozac prescription like ASAP.” Many of her fellow Bravolebrities commented saying she looked beautiful and added fire sign emojis. But some followers found the whole post tasteless as many are currently struggling with mental health issues while being stuck at home. Fans pointed out that Stassi was insensitive as some really do need a prescription to survive the day. Even a doctor commented mentioned the spoiled Stassi had no idea what “spiraling” was, and she could go to work with her in the emergency room to witness the real deal.
True fans of Stassi realize that she is not understanding by nature but still did not condone the post, as many think the reality star should have known better. As for Stassi, we are sure she is eating up all this free publicity and enjoying a nice glass of white wine with her Witches of WeHo group, minus Kristen Doute.
