Stassi Schroeder shared she had to change her initial plans for an elaborate gender reveal after she was fired from Vanderpump Rules last June. When the show began back in 2013, Stassi was the Queen Bee of SUR. Stassi, Kristen and Katie practically ran the place and were more important to impress than Lisa Vanderpump. The first few seasons revolved around Stassi's relationship with Jax, with fans wondering if they'll get back together after his cheating scandal. After it was clear the couple was not meant to be, Stassi moved to New York with her boyfriend Patrick. She came back a few seasons later, a much humbler version of herself, and had to work her way from the bottom back up to Queen Bee status. This new Stassi soon met Beau and the rest is reality show history.

It seemed like everything was going right for Stassi. First, she announced her engagement to Beau, then she announced they bought a mansion in Malibu, and then came the baby announcement. Just when it seemed like she was at the prime of her life, it all came crashing down when she was fired from Vanderpump Rules due to allegations of racism. Former cast member Faith, who is black, spoke out against her and Kristen Doute, claiming they tried to get her arrested for a crime she did not commit. According to Faith, the two saw reports of a crime on The Daily Mail, and thought the suspect looked like Faith, so they reported her to the police. After their firing, they both apologized, with Stassi claiming she regrets what she did, taking full responsibility, claiming she wants to be the kind of person her daughter can be proud of.

Stassi is now opening up about what her initial plans were for her gender reveal, and why she changed her plans in the first place. On her The Good, The Bad, The Baby podcast, Stassi revealed she initially planned on renting a helicopter to fly around Valley Village, where the rest of the cast lives, with a banner saying "It's a Boy" or "It's a Girl." She thought it would be a good COVID safe way to let her friends know because all they would have to do is step outside their house and look up at the sky. As US Weekly reports, instead of going through with that elaborate plan, Stassi's sister baked them a cake with pink frosting on the inside. Stassi called it the best day of her life, even comparing it to Christmas morning. According to Stassi, they went for the smaller reveal because they didn't feel like a big celebration after being fired.

Stassi took this opportunity to also go into how and when she found out she was pregnant with now four-month-old daughter, Hartford. She says on the podcast that she found out two days after she filmed the Vanderpump Rules season 8 reunion. She revealed she was two days late and really was excited to take a pregnancy test. One thing that concerned her after she found out she was pregnant was that she was drinking during the reunion, but that her doctor reassured her that her baby is fine and that many women drink without knowing they are pregnant. Beau took it one step further, previously revealing that they conceived their daughter on Easter 2020 in the early days of quarantine.

It will be interesting to see how the show functions without Stassi this season. She has left before, but this time so many other key characters on the show will also be missing. The main draw for most fans of the show, is the dynamics between everyone in the friend group, and now half the friend group is missing. There were many who were calling for the cancellation of the show altogether, and fan reaction to the announcement of season nine, was pretty lackluster. Once the trailer is revealed, it will be clear whether or not Vanderpump Rules can survive without a majority of its key players.
