New information will be gleaned during the Vanderpump Rules season 10 reunion, which has caused Alex Baskin, the show's executive producer, to pause the start date on filming for season 11. Unfortunately, the lighthearted storylines this season, like Scheana Shay's wedding, James Kennedy's new relationship, and Ariana Madix and Katie Maloney's sandwich shop happenings, were all overshadowed by Tom Sandoval's affair with Raquel Leviss. This affair severed Tom's nine-year relationship with Ariana while destroying many friendships both Tom and Raquel held. As new details of their deception emerged almost daily, Vanderpump Rules season 10 became a train wreck of emotions, for the cast and the viewers alike, to process.

In an interview with Variety, Alex revealed there is a delay on continuing filming for the Bravo reality show. This pause comes on the heels of a heated Vanderpump Rules season 10 reunion. Alex stated, "The reunion is not just a recap of what you know, and it’s not just an intense version of the emotions,” then added, “There is new information.” Though Alex did not disclose what "new information" will be learned, he did tease, “There are revelations...that not all of them know now. So we need a little space. I had thought that we needed cameras on them right away, and I now think we need a minute.”

Vanderpump Rules Season 11 Pause Will Be Brief

Though Alex called for a delay in filming, he went on to reveal that this pause will be brief, as Vanderpump Rules will continue production this summer. This means that the cast will only have a month off to process any "new information" learned during the reunion. Alex explains this move by expressing, “It’s definitely a balancing act because we don’t want too much time to elapse.” On that same note, should anything major occur during this brief delay, Alex affirmed that “we can also, as we’ve proven, get cameras up if we need to. If Tom and Ariana happen to move, we’re up."

Alex is referencing back to when producers wrapped up filming for Vanderpump Rules season 10, but shortly after the cameras were down, the news of the affair broke. The producers quickly scrambled back into filming, adding on an extra episode to showcase the fallout in real time. In addition, though they are not even on speaking terms, Tom and Ariana still live together in their Valley Village farmhouse. Though Ariana has expressed wanting to sell their home so she can purchase her own place, Tom's stance is unknown. Hopefully, the pair can come to a consensus and part ways financially so that they can both move forward with their lives.

Allowing the cast to take a breather was likely needed, as many have used this time off to indulge in life-giving activities, such as traveling, booking new gigs, and even just resting at home with their animals and/or children. Despite the pain endured, Ariana is now dating again while the other women stand ready at her side, picking up the pieces still falling into place post-Scandoval. While it is nice to know that during these easier times the cameras can pick back up as quickly as needed, hopefully, this down period can endure for a bit, bringing the cast back rested and ready for Vanderpump Rules season 11.

Vanderpump Rules airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. EDT on Bravo.
