Vanderpump Rules's restaurant SUR - owned by former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Lisa Vanderpump - is facing a lawsuit after food poisoning allegations. They allegedly sent someone to the hospital.

SUR - which stands for Sexy Unique Restaurant (seriously) - is the restaurant featured in Bravo's Vanderpump Rules, which follows the dramatic lives of the servers who work there. Anyone who's actually visited the West Hollywood hotspot knows it's more a tourist attraction than it is a place to get food. Sticking to drinks might be a good choice, as their menu is reportedly extremely random and the quality is subpar. But nobody knew just how subpar - until a woman recently sued them for giving her an extreme case of food poisoning.

In a lawsuit obtained by The Blast, a woman is suing SUR after she contracted a nasty case of food poisoning while eating at the restaurant. According to the documents, the woman ate the "white fish with orange cream sauce" on August 17 and then immediately began vomiting and defecating uncontrollably - while still sitting at her table. About an hour into the meal, she said, “her head suddenly whipped back, causing her body to move backwards as well, as she felt a hot sensation rise from her stomach, into her chest, and then into her throat that she was unable to control.” She then fell on the floor and began defecating through her clothing. After that traumatic ordeal, she was transported to Cedars Sinai Emergency Department and spent the next five days in the hospital - three of which were spent in intensive care.

After the lawsuit came out, SUR co-owner Nathalie Zapata released a statement addressing the cleanliness of the restaurant. In it, she claimed SUR has "regular checks from the Health Department" and that they've maintained their A rating. However, that's contradictory to what the lawsuit says. In the documents, they're claiming SUR was inspected by the Health Department on or around July 14, 2017, and that seven violations were found, including unclean food surfaces, rodents, insects, birds, and "substandard equipment and utensils." Zapata doubled down on her claims, however, telling People that if someone had vomited and defecated in the restaurant, it would be on their cameras "or others." Vanderpump and her lawyers haven't yet released a statement.

SUR already didn't have the best reputation even before these allegations, so this will be another blow for the restaurant. Bravo fans might want to stick to cocktails when they visit the tourist stop - at least until this lawsuit is sorted out. Fans will have to wait and see if this food poisoning ordeal is addressed on Vanderpump Rules, and if Vanderpupmp herself has anything to say about it.
