James Kennedy and Raquel Leviss might be sharing some big news in season nine after the Vanderpump Rules stars got engaged in a Coachella-themed proposal. Fans have watched the couple go through their fair share of ups and downs. But Raquel has proudly stood by her man's side despite his disrespectful moments. Now it looks like her patience has paid off after she revealed her new engagement ring.

Raquel made her inception on the show as the pretty pageant queen girlfriend of SUR's controversial DJ, James Kennedy. Over the years, James often put himself at the center of the drama through his offensive remarks to the cast and drunken behavior. All the while, Raquel remained a solid supporter of her boyfriend, even if he expressed lingering feelings toward his ex and on-and-off friend Lala Kent. During season eight, viewers got to see James start to turn a new leaf as he worked to maintain his sobriety and be a better person for his family and friends. With it being two years since the cast has filmed together, it looks like James did all the maturing he needed to do during the hiatus.

Over the weekend, Raquel took to Instagram to share some exciting news with show fans. "James proposed at the iconic Empire Polo Fields of “RACHELLA” Friday night... and I said YES," she captioned a photo slide from the special day. "I’m over the Coachella moon," she added. The first photo showed her hand wearing her new giant diamond ring. The second photo showed her laying a kiss on her fiance. A video clip showed their friends cheering them on as they danced together at the Coachella-themed event. The proposal was a big step for the couple after sharing their rocky moments on the show.

Fans praised the couple and sent their congrats in the comments, including Scheana Shay's boyfriend and baby daddy Brock Davies. The cast recently returned to filming for season nine. Viewers are not expecting to see James's proposal once the show returns. The series was put on pause during the pandemic due to restaurant closures. During the break, seven cast members were either fired or announced their departure from the show. With Scheana and Lala both welcoming babies and James popping the big question, it looks like there's a lot of change coming to VPR.

Viewers have already started to speculate how Lala feels about James' proposal. The two have had an interesting friendship over the years after starting off as lovers. Vanderpump Rules fans have seen James express jealousy towards Lala and Randall Emmett while Lala and Raquel have argued over issues related to James. But with them all grown up and starting families, maybe they can embark on a more genuine adult friendship.
