Vanderpump Rules star Lala Kent is taking extra precautions as she steps back into the dating scene by hiring a private investigator to run background checks on anyone who tries to court her. Months after learning about her ex-fiancé Randall Emmett's scandalous rendezvous in Nashville, Lala has reportedly moved on to dating a mystery man she describes is "built like Superman." The former SUR hostess and Hollywood producer got engaged back in September 2018, but the pandemic, cheating allegations, and, most recently revealed, lackluster intimacy stopped Lala and Randall from making it to the altar.
Lala and Randall first started dating in 2015 amid his divorce to Ambyr Childers, with who he shares 2 kids with. Lala received scathing criticism from the Vanderpump Rules crew for the questionable timeline of the pair's romance. Many called Lala a gold-digger and homewrecker as she began seeing a rich and seemingly married Hollywood producer who was 20 years older than her. But as Lisa Vanderpump pointed out on the Vanderpump Rules season 9 reunion, "Sometimes the way you get them is the way you lose them." After welcoming their daughter Ocean in March 2021, pictures surfaced of Randall cozied up with multiple women while on a trip in Nashville. The couple confirmed their breakup in October 2021 leaving Lala disgusted from feeling "safe enough to bring a child into this world," as she tearfully stated during the most recent Vanderpump Rules reunion.
Lala is now learning from her mistakes and making sure she doesn't get duped again. As Page Six reports, Lala revealed on Amazon Live she hired a private investigator to get the scoop on anyone interested in taking her out. "I will never welcome someone into my life again without a full background check, and I mean depth. I got to see what your credit is. I need to know your family history. I need to know everything you've been involved with. I'm going deep." Lala attributes wanting all the details about her future suitors to being damaged from her past relationship with Randall.
On Amazon Live, Lala also dished on her recent date with the guy who's "built like Superman." "It was amazing. I had a lot of fun. I know I'm definitely not ready to date just one person. I want to continue having fun, and that's what it is." Lala shared her physical attraction to her new mystery suitor but hasn't opened up any further about their relationship.
From her daughter Ocean to being an author, and now operating Give Them Lala Beauty, Lala has plenty of things to focus on other than jumping into the dating scene after a publicly unamicable breakup. Hiring a private investigator won't solve the trust issues she has seemingly developed after her relationship with Randall. While there is no word yet on season 10 of Vanderpump Rules, it would be interesting to see Lala back in the dating game with a PI by her side.
