It seems nothing is easy when it comes to love and war, primarily for Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz from Vanderpump Rules, who keep being spotted hanging out, this time at a birthday party. The couple's love story took a nosedive after it was revealed that they had called it quits. The last season of the Bravo show showed both Katie and Tom struggling within their marriage.
Just recently, Katie opened up about her struggle with Tom throughout their marriage. The Vanderpump Rules duo went through a roller coaster of ups and downs throughout their time on the show. Most of their romance was caught by Bravo cameras, which included a huge brawl in Mexico, their engagement and their wedding. For Tom, it took two times of meeting for him to fall head over heels for Katie. Now that they have decided to call it quits, fans thought they would be keeping their distance, but it seems like a hard task to do.
Everyone enjoys a good birthday party, as it was reported by Page Six that numerous Vanderpump Rules stars showed up at Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright's home to celebrate their son Cruz's milestone. Katie and Tom, who arrived separately, seemed to be obeying the "three strikes and you're out" rule as they kept their distance from one another. Katie showed up in a long black morning dress, while Tom sported a simple Lady Gaga T-shirt. He was spotted lending a helping hand and even helped Jax carry in a propane tank for the birthday balloons.
Katie notably didn't wear her wedding ring, but Tom still sported his. The TomTom owner already expressed that he feels naked without his ring and would be wearing it for the foreseeable future. The former couple actually still lives in their Valley Village home out of practicality. There has been no update on who will move out first. Katie filed for divorce back in February, citing "irreconcilable differences" in the paperwork.
Katie recently shared she is hopeful that Bravo will renew Vanderpump Rules for its 10th season in the not-too-distant future. While she hasn't heard anything about not coming back, fans wonder if the cast has lost its zest. Many members have moved on and started families, and very little takes place in SUR since so many don't work there anymore. One thing is for sure: if there is a season 10, Tom and Katie's drama will most likely be a major plotline.
