With the cast currently in production for Vanderpump Rules season 9, alum Jax Taylor is starting to reminisce about his time on the show. This will be the first season without the OG SURver, and it looks like Jax is starting to feel nostalgic. Now, Jax is dishing on how much he misses his castmates now that he is gone.
It was December 2020 when Jax and his wife Brittany Cartwright announced their unexpected exit from the show. Some fans were still reeling over the termination of four cast members in June, with many wondering what Jax and Brittany's fate would be after their names were brought into the mix. It was Faith Stowers who made shocking discrimination allegations against Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute that stemmed from her past cheating scandal with Jax. Once Stassi and Kristen got the boot, many debated on if Jax should've been fired as well. After announcing his departure, there were rumors that he too was given the pink slip.
Since Jax Taylor's exit, he has talked about how much of a relief leaving the show has been for him due to how stressful he found the filming process to be. However, his wife does miss their old friends and all the good times they shared. “I miss it at times. I get sad when if I see pictures of all you guys together because normally we would be together,” Brittany told Lala Kent in a recent episode of the Give Them Lala… With Randall podcast. Her OG husband chimed in and touched on how they've grown since the early days of the series. “It was an awesome show. It gave us so much. But we’re growing up,” Jax said while adding how it was "time to move on."
Jax Taylor also threw his wife under the bus when it comes to which one of them actually misses being on the show. “Brittany still misses it a little bit, but I don’t work at SUR. There’s no reason for me [to be there],” he quipped. “I don’t even hang out with anybody besides [Lala and Randall].” It turns out that he felt like it was his time to go. “I don’t think it was healthy anymore,” he said before admitting to having suicidal thoughts during his last season. “I had to call you a few times because I was going to drive my car into oncoming traffic," he revealed.
Now, ahead of their "big announcement," Jax teased what he's looking forward to with their new project, while also sharing what he does miss about being on reality TV. “Everybody’s excited to figure out what we want to do. So that’s kind of nice. Because we weren’t sure,” he said. “We’re like, ‘Do we want to get back into that world again?’ I miss the paycheck. I do not miss that world at all.” But according to Brittany, Jax “acts like he doesn’t miss it, but I know my husband. I know that he misses it,” she added. Alas, certain fans of Vanderpump Rules think they know Jax well and believe that he is indeed missing all the attention.
