Since the affair between Raquel Leviss and Tom Sandoval broke in March, a lot more has come out both on and off Vanderpump Rules. Thanks to their almost decade-long relationship, Tom and his now-ex Ariana Madix looked to have one of the most solid relationships on the show. However, the singer has not found himself in the dog house.

For years, Tom was seen as the best option out of the original Vanderpump Rules men. His friends, Jax Taylor and Tom Schwartz had a knack for cheating on their girlfriends and lying about it. Even though Sandoval was eccentric, he seemed to genuinely care about the women he was with. Tom dated SUR server and model Kristin Doute in the first couple of seasons. Their relationship wasn't the best and ended with Kristin accusing Tom of cheating on her with Ariana, who had just started bartending with Tom at SUR. Ariana and Tom became official in 2014.

It all began when the Vanderpump Rules cast flew to Mexico to enjoy a long weekend celebration for Scheana Shay and Brock Davies' wedding. The backdrop was perfect, warm summer days that turned into a blur of drunken nights. However, the first Tom that Raquel tried to date was Tom Schwartz. After the episode aired, it was argued that Schwartz was just a decoy for Sandoval and Raquel. However, the co-owner of Tom Tom revealed that it wasn't a decoy kiss, sharing that everything about that night was organic as he had some interest in Raquel at the time.

"Scandoval" Began After Boys' Night

As shared by Reality Bites, the affair got its green light on the Vanderpump Rules episode, where the boys were having a night out to cheer up Schwartz. All of the girls, including Raquel, were meant to be in Lake Havasu, but the model left early because she felt Lala Kent and Katie Maloney were bullying her. In a surprise twist, she turned up and crashed the guys' night out.

Ariana was nowhere in sight as she had to rush home to take care of her dog, Charlotte, who later passed away. The outlet shared intimate details of the night, noting Sandoval drove Raquel back to his shared Valley Village home with Ariana because the beauty pageants car was parked there for unknown reasons. The two Bravo stars then proceeded to hook up in Ariana's Lincoln sedan.

Tom & Raquel Kissed For The First Time Last August

Tom went on the Howie Mandel Does Stuff podcast to share his side of the story. During the same night that boys' night was held, Tom shared that he had found himself locked out of his own home with Raquel by his side. Tom shared with the comedian that when they kissed, it was "magic" as they moved closer and closer. Tom also confirmed that he and Raquel were intimate that same night in August.

Both Tom and Raquel wore mementos of their secret affair that only they knew about. After the affair broke online, numerous sources started noticing that Raquel and Tom, who are often snapped together, were wearing matching necklaces. In a crazy self-outing, both Bravo stars had a lightning bolt accessory around their necks for months to signal their shared love for one another. The lightning bolt symbol was taken from Tom's band, which includes a lightning bolt on their merchandise. Raquel never missed a performance from his band, Tom Sandoval & The Most Extras, and was snapped wearing a band sweatshirt a few months prior.

Raquel Would Have Sleep Overs At Tom's While Ariana Was Away

As next week's episode of Vanderpump Rules showed, Raquel admitted to Lisa Vanderpump that she slept over at Tom's Valley Village home while Ariana was back in Florida spending time with her family after her grandmother, Bonnie, passed away. The sleepovers occurred on more than one occasion, some even happening while Ariana was at home. As Scandoval broke, it was revealed that Tom would often sneak out of his bed and go hook up with Raquel while Ariana was home.

Tom Issues An Apology To Ariana

The Vanderpump Rules bartender issued two statements following the news that he was caught cheating. A week after Ariana found out her boyfriend had been unfaithful, Tom posted an Instagram message that, at first, didn't address the hurt he caused Ariana. The first post urged followers not to take their anger out on his businesses, Tom Tom and Schwartz & Sandy's. Only after receiving backlash in the comments section did he post a second message addressing how he hurt Ariana.

Raquel Comments On Scandoval

Raquel has also released a statement addressing her wrongdoings, noting she is taking accountability for hurting Ariana. Both Raquel and Tom were spotted hanging out a few days after they were outed as they headed to the airport, and she came over to this home. Raquel also revealed she had a pattern of codependency, sharing in her statement that she has issues with wanting to feel loved. Raquel also checked into a mental health facility amid Scandoval to take some time to heal.

Ariana Is Thriving Post Scandoval

Even though the affair blindsided Ariana, she is living her best single life now. Ariana just had a campaign shoot for Bloomingdale, landed a Lifetime movie role, wore a killer revenge dress on the Vanderpump Rules reunion, and even shared a few kisses with a new love interest at Coachella. Tom and Raquel have both claimed they are taking a break and not officially dating. The drama will be sure to come to a dramatic conclusion on the reunion, which was filmed a month after Scandoval broke.
