Brock Davies from Vanderpump Rules’ might not be a fan favorite just yet and has already been compared to former cast member Jax Taylor, which is not a great sign. The father of three has shown quite a few questionable sides of his character on season 9 of Vanderpump Rules, and even Lala Kent and Katie Maloney, who are friends with Scheana Shay, raised concern about his real intentions with Scheana. However, Scheana seems happy, after giving birth to her first daughter Summer Moon, who she shares with Brock.
Brock and Scheana met in 2019 while Scheana was living in San Diego, and after season 8 of Vanderpump Rules was wrapped. The Australian native came to the US to try out as a football player but didn’t make the cut, and therefore decided to focus on his career as a fitness coach and started his own fitness app during the COVID-19 pandemic. Brock first appeared on Vanderpump Rules in April 2020 during the virtual reunion and became a full-time cast member on season 9. After two years of dating, Brock popped the question in July 2021. Since the filming of Vanderpump Rules season, 9 wrapped around that time and is airing now, fans are a bit surprised by the storyline of each cast member but especially Scheana’s and Brock’s.
According to Heavy, fans of Vanderpump Rules took to Reddit and questioned Brock’s agenda of why he wanted to rush a wedding to Scheana after episode 12, “Give Them Lala,” aired. In that episode, Brock planned a surprise wedding, although it's not really a total surprise, as Scheana went dress shopping simultaneously. Aside from that, Brock failed to manage his funds or have any organizational skills and therefore the wedding plans fell through. Looking at Brock’s and Scheana’s relationship timeline, it is no surprise fans have questions. Fans suspect Brock’s green card was about to expire, as Scheana has mentioned that be the case on the show. Others believed it to be another reason. “Was the quickie on the spot wedding to avoid Scheana getting a pre-nup [SIC] sorted. Who the actual eff does a surprise quicky wedding,” Reddit user @Spinach_Sad commented.
Another Reddit user argued, “I thought surely that has to be some goofy storyline? I would think maybe 1 percent of the world population would want a ‘surprise wedding.’ Also, who asks someone to throw a fake movie premiere? Hopefully, the producers are just getting lazy and Brock isn’t that clueless,” @uplatetoomuch posted. Looking at the comments, Brock is not sitting in a good light on his first season of Vanderpump Rules. Many fans voiced their opinion that he comes off as cheap as he’s trying to get everything for free, such as the photoshoot with James Kennedy, and now fans wonder if he hoped for Bravo production or Randall Emmett and Lala to pay for his speedy wedding surprise. “I think he thought that if he mentioned it on screen that bravo would foot the bill and then they would act like it was Lala and Randall. When she asked for his credit card he backed out because he realized that’s not actually how it works,” @Hansley72 chimed in.
While it is understandable that fans question Brock’s motive and for Scheana’s friends to be concerned, as they’ve been only dating for two years with now a baby on deck, the Vanderpum Rules alum Scheana truly seems happy with Brock. The couple recently broadcasted, their wedding plans consist of a destination wedding in Bali. Scheana and Brock are also planning baby No.2.
