Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madix recently revealed she has some regrets about her time on the show. While Ariana doesn't regret all of the drama from season 3, she feels there are definitely some things she'd like to change if given the opportunity. Ariana also shares some of her least favorite fashion moments on the show and the friendships she's grateful for at the moment.
When Ariana Madix first appeared on Vanderpump Rules in 2013, she was working at Lisa Vanderpump's West Hollywood restaurant SUR. Lisa's restaurants have seen their fair share of messy break-ups and other drama over the years, and one of the most notable moments happened at SUR during Vanderpump Rules season 3 when AnneMarie "Miami Girl" Maldonado (formerly Annemarie Kunkel) was accused of sleeping with Ariana's boyfriend Tom Sandoval. Tom's ex-girlfriend Kristen Doute helped orchestrate the confrontation.
While Ariana didn't appreciate the drama involving her and Tom, what she takes issue with the most is the way the confrontation was arranged and how she and Tom handled it. She felt that the situation was overly staged by production and was apathetic about appearing on screen. "We just went to a bar next door, had a drink and chilled until they were, like, 'You have to come back here'," she tells US Weekly. Ariana says that she and Tom felt that the accusations were fabricated and out of line. She also shared that she was confused as to why the "Miami Girl" was there in the first place saying "We were, like, 'Oh, so random people just show up now.'" Ariana explained that she wished she had stayed at SUR instead of going to the bar with Tom to calm down. Had Ariana stayed, she says she would have gotten to the bottom of the situation and confronted former co-star Jax Taylor to ask" 'What was the catalyst for you selling a story? Like, what was that?' Then I [could have gotten] him to say, 'Well, yeah, I had her laptop.' I just feel, like, I should have just been a bit more forthright."
Aside from wishing she had done more to stand up for herself on camera, Ariana doesn't have very many regrets about her behavior on the show, including her decision to befriend Kristen after the confrontation at SUR saying, "we've been great since we made that decision." However, she does regret one particular outfit she wore to Scheana Shay's engagement party for the season 2 finale. Ariana credits the inspiration for her outfit to being under the influence saying, "I was very high." Ariana continued, saying that she didn't put enough thought into the outfit and, as a result, showed up to the event in "orange parachute pants." Ariana also notes that she didn't care for Tom's "skunk hair," and while it was revealed that the hairstyle was also his biggest fashion regret, Ariana jokes that Tom may have sported the look to spite her.
With all of the ups and downs of being on the show, one might think that Ariana would have a lot more to take issue with other than a couple of cool down drinks at the bar and some unfortunate pants, but it seems that she has made the most out of her time on Vanderpump Rules. While she and Tom have criticized Jax and other cast members for dishonesty and other negative behavior, some fans may wonder if there is more to uncover about Ariana given her friendship with Kristen. Ariana having few regrets about her time on-screen could be attributed to the fact that the show has been more kind to her than it has been for former co-stars such as Jax, Kristen, and Brett Caprioni, and Max Boyens, who have all been under fire for racist behavior.
